I have a similar problem with my linksys router, but all it does is timeout inactive tcp/ip connections. I have not had any luck fixing it but maybe this info will help you track down your problem.

There should be somewhere in your router setup that you can define the DNS because it sounds like its not getting it automagically from your isp's DHCP server. If yo ucan't find it in there you could set it on each machine.

It sounds like a DNS(nameserver) problem. Check your config stuff on your router to see if its picking up a DNS server via DHCP if its not you may have to enter one manually.

Ok so your using the linksys usb thingie instead of an airport card. It sounds like OS X doesn't have built in support for it, you should check the linksys site and see if there is some kind of software for it.
