To anyone who thinks it's a bad idea (or a waste) to improve battery life, I think the less often you have to tether your mobile device to a wire the better. Inductive charging could also help reduce the frequency.

I'm sure that some other platforms are more open to, say, location-tracking malware. At least when Apple fumbles the location tracking a bit they are quickly held publicly accountable.
