Well, if Apple put an ADC port on the Powerbooks, then you would have a large hassle to have DVI. And the PB is a pro business machine, and many PB users hook up their PBs to projectors, many of which are DVI.

It will come to the Mac with time, just like with the 9700. But we all know the status of the 9700.

Congrads! Would ya look at that...a switcha! Wait until July...that's when the whole Powerbook line will most likely be updated. If you can't wait...get an old Mac to tide ya ovare

Yes it does illuminate...the keyboard, that is.

I most definitely agree with you on that.

That raises a very important question: will there be an nvidia or ATI GPU?
-
I dunno...No one is gonna buy a 15" PB until the update. And Apple knows that.

Sorry, but I think that adding FW 800, a backlit keyboard, and a change in the style of enclosure doesn't sound like a worthy update to me.

A bit off subject: Look at sony. Nice, beautiful hardware, expensive prices. It seems like sony is more like Apple than anyone else. Most Japanese manufactirers like the "Zen" component in their products. Then why doesn't Sony run the Mac OS?

Sorry, it isn't USB 2 compatible. MY BAD. FORGIVE ME. But why use USB 2 when you have a faster, more reliable, and versatile standard?

Posted by Strobe: [quote] Why would camcorders use FW800? In fact don't most of them use FW100 now? Whoa, you are wrong on that one! #1, there is no such thing as FW 100. If you are talking about the original firewire, that is FW 400. And mos…

The camcorder industry, at least the professional sector, will switch to FW 800 with time. Just because many manufacturers have USB 2 enabled video recorders doesn't mean that FW 800 is a total flunk. It took a while for ieee 1394 to gain popularity…

Well, I don't know about the PS2, but I know that the "kiddy console", the Gamecube, runs an IBM "Gekko" chip. Whether the Gekko is in the PPC family I am unsure of, but it seems odd for two competitors to both be using IBM as a chip supplier...

Yes. But it is kinda unfeasable with a tight office spce...imagine having to have a large, flat thingoccupying your desk. And for travel-

The adapter is just fine! No need for a new design!

Could you guys come to your senses about the processors with OS X? I am running OS X Jaguar with a G3/300, 192 MB RAM, and a 6 GB HD. And you know what? It runs just fine. A single G4/800 is more than good enough for the prosumer buyer.

That's stupid. The screen ratio is f*cked.

I dunno...it isn't funcional enough for Apple to make. What happened to printing a photo and framing it? [ 03-03-2003: Message edited by: os10geek ]
