  • More on the Wall Street Journal thing. Man, Apple stocks are about the flattest I've seen for the night before. Usually they do a significant rise the day before. Oh well... \

  • Man! Right after I made that last post my ATI x850 Pro arrived. I've been hip deep ever since. I think I finally got it working, so, I need to go over to Strangedogs and post about it before I forget more than I already have 8) I really don't …

  • I was thinking about the new PC cards using EFI the other day. And then it occurred to me that this probably still won't allow those cards that are aimed at Windows to work correctly with OSX. The problem is that OSX uses the card differently than W…
  • Well, I really appreciate these new Mac Pros. This is just what the doctor ordered for Video encoding. I will be ordering one just as soon as the people who buy the first ones confirm that there aren't any lurking bugs anywhere. A new Quad for aroun…

  • So end the confusion. Buy a 5 pack of Apple 4x media and try it. It will not harm your machine and at worse will take you 2.5 hours longer to use up those 5 disc.

  • Yep, I saw that you have the 816. And, I added that PowerBook Firmware link just for you \ I really don't see where you have a problem. The 816 should burn Apples 4x media at 2x without any alteration. Apple's 4x media is the same price as the old…
  • I also found it strange that Apple's firmware only allows 4x media to be burnt at 1x. It just doesn't make sense. The same drive with the official Pioneer firmware burns 4x media at 2x. You can see it by looking at this chart from Pioneer; http://w…
  • Nope, even if you gave me the particulars, like firmware package used and error received, I still probably wouldn't have a clue. You would be much better off asking the creator; http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?t=25930 I flashed my 105 and 107 …
  • Completely different apps. Mac the Ripper creates DVD compliant files, HandBreak creates a MPEG-4 or H264 movie. Depending on your final target output, you would choose one or the other.
  • OK people, Mac The Ripper has been finished. It's now, IMHO , the best Ripper ever on the Mac. Featuring the only automatic Region and RCE Status display on the Mac. Enjoy!
