  • AppleInsider: Journalism or crap? It's mostly crap, but I stop in for my daily spoonful
  • G5 optical specs: DVD-R write: 8x DVD read: 10x CD-R write: 24x CD read: 32x That's not too much behind the times... Most of my CD burning is behind me now that I have an iPod, so I could almost care less

  • Entourage is an absolute joke when it comes to Exchange support. If Apple wants to break into the corporate market, I would like to see them license the MAPI protocol, and everything else they need, to write an Outlook replacement for OS X.
  • Quote: Originally posted by Gene Clean Why sure you don't. But the only difference in this case is that, the CD-RW is written by a Machine and a Machine needs to erase it. Brilliant Gene Clean. Real knowledge is to know the extent of ones i…

  • Quote: Originally posted by Thinine Open Office is crap. Whatever new app they develop will be magnitudes better. KHTML wasn't the best thing in the world either, but Apple started with it as a base, and worked hard on it and it became Safari…
  • Quote: Originally posted by Hobbes Ahem. CoughAppleWorkssuccessorwillatlastarrivethisMWSFah em. I hope that Apple jumps into OpenOffice with two feet. Apple's open source track record is strong... OpenOffice would be the cherry on top.
  • I do think it's interesting that two of the big three consoles run PPC: Gamecube and Xbox 2. Those are very specialized system architectures, but things like Mac-on-Linux give me hope of running Gamecube & Xbox games on Mac... PC games on …
  • An Apple rep confirmed there was a new eMac on the way, but didn't give any details, except for the desire to keep the price point.

  • Well, my Flash iPod prediction was wrong... but the U2 iPod is cool. Reminds me of Swatch in it's heyday... I believe this is the first of many "special edition" iPod's.

  • Quote: #1 They have commericials (XM is commercial free) This is a tough one to respond to, but I will say that commercials are an obvious way to pay the bills. Google has ads too. Quote: #2 They are ponying up 500 million for their deal …
  • I remembered that such a device already exists for Sirius: XAct XTR1 Power Pod This "power pod" provides portable power for the XTR1 receiver, and contains a built in antenna. Don't know if I'd wear it though...
  • Quote: Originally posted by iShawn Sirius and XM...however their satellites are the same Your statement is about the two companies using the same satellites is way wrong. XM has two satellites built by Boeing. Their codenames are "Rock" an…
  • I hope it's not XM, because Stern is on Sirius
  • My prediction from the Apple music event thread: I believe the new U2 album will be on flash memory.
