What was the boot time on the G5? Anyone time how fast it boots?

Yup, OS X behaves the same way as OS 9. If the file is already open on a PC, OS X gets NO warning. But if OS X opens the file first, the PC DOES gets a warning when trying to open the same file.

I have the exact same Mac. I share your pains. OS X: Faster boot times, but now the shutdown takes 5 minutes. Think Different.

I saw the C-Span show live with Al and O'Reilly on an author panel a couple months ago. Franken previewed the book for the first time (with a live audience too) and O'Reilly totally flipped-out. It became a WWF cage match for a while. Fun to watch...
