  • Unboxing LG's 27-inch UltraFine 5K Display with Thunderbolt 3

Only thing I saw attractive there was the aluminium foil wrapping paper. Everything else was hideously ugly. How Apple could even be linked to this?!? Steve Jobs would chuck it out the window. Defenestration FTW!
I don't know what you are looking for. The display works phenomenally well (I have the 4K). The bezel is very small, so there is not much left to dress up.  IMO, the stand and bezel completely disappear into the background when looking at it.  The only thing that would make it better, is if it did not have a stand sitting on my desk...   Oh wait, it ships with a bracket to do just that.  I suppose it could be a different color, but black is perfect for me.

  • Review: Using LG's UltraFine 4K Display with Apple's USB-C MacBooks is as simple as can be...

Ok so given the most likely thing I want plugged in to the monitor is Ethernet so I only need one cable to plug in at work.

Will I still get Tx1000 out of USB-c ports on the back or will the USB2.0 speed ports drop it back to 100?

The gigabit ethernet dongles still provide a 1000-baseTX connection,  but performance wise, they top out around 350 Mbps when connected to the USB2 ports on this monitor.  Not full performance, but still worth having IMO.
