  • Steve Jobs tasked Apple to fix healthcare and Apple Watch is part of the answer

But but but I thought everyone said the Watch is something Steve Jobs would never have released?
Makes you wonder if Jobs would have wanted such a focus on fashion and $300 bands, doesn't it?  Where are all the monitoring advances not offered by fitness bands again?

I submit that the watch we got is very different from what Jobs envisioned. I think the real difference between Cook and Jobs is the reaction each had to adversity. When Cook met resistance with things like FDA approval of advanced sensors, instead of finding a way forward, he went with Plan B and turned the watch into a glorified FitBit. If Jobs had reacted this way when the iPhone was first developed we would have gotten a bag phone with an iPod coupon.

  • Apple's iPhone is most influential gadget ever, says TIME

This really cannot be overstated. I had "smartphones" prior to iPhone, and although certain components were present then that we use today, the mobile experience was an afterthought that didn't bring much more than email to the party.  Even before the App Store iPhone was revolutionary in its intuitiveness, usability and usefulness.

  • Fitbit CEO says Apple Watch 'wrong way' to approach wearables

Despite the smugness on this forum so far, I will play devil's advocate.

Between FitBit and Apple Watch, which one "just works"?
Which has the less cluttered physical and logical UI?
Which provides a GPS option along with at least some notifications?
    Which is selling more devices?
    Which has better battery life?
Which has the more "Apple" approach (carefully adding new features), and which has the more "Samsung" approach (throwing in the kitchen sink regardless of user experience, like 5-second app. load times)?

Two yeas ago I would have replied exactly as you have so far.  But with the "new" Apple, along with my own decision to go Garmin instead of Apple, I am not as confident, and neither should you be.  In the end I would still like to believe Apple will get it right, but I no longer believe it is a given.

  • How Apple's new, powerful 4-inch iPhone SE is built for the future

While ended up buying the 6 plus when it came out, found the large screen a bonus, this inane trend to thinness has made me rethink my phone choices.  Not anymore.  This SE phone is spot on.  I like the build quality and size because I have smaller hands. And it's great that it got a hardware boost. I'll trading this phone that I have in for the SE model.
Had you considered the 6/6s (4.7)?  I am baffled by people in this thread who seem to ping-pong between the two extremes.

  • Cost of out-of-warranty Apple Watch Sport repairs drops to $199

It kills me how Apple can be so greedy!! Really it costs NO DIFFERENCE to work on a Aluminum watch Stainless or pure Gold...Why should the case material determine the repair costs are??? Because they can and people are stupid enough to pay them!!!!
While I generally agree with you on the greed, isn't the case covered for repair?
