This really is a rather dramatic and head scratching conflict.  At virtually every media event, Cook almost breaks into tears as he dramatically professes Apple’s core values around the right to privacy.  He goes so far as to fight the US government to access someone’s personal device.  

And yet, in China, a communist nation that oppresses individual rights, including privacy, Cook is more than willing to sway to the will of the oppressive government.  

I like Apple products, but I don’t want to hear about Apple’s values.   If they’re not universally applied, they’re not values.  They’re sales tactics.

So, Apple is giving away TV shows....in an effort sell other people’s TV shows....in an effort to sell more hardware?  

I guess I’m genuinely confused why Apple would produce media content at a loss.  The only profits they stand to gain are in shaving off a percentage of other services’ subscriptions, or in selling more iPhones, iPads, AppleTVs, etc.  

They’re supposedly not making money on selling user behavior information.

Absolutely ridiculous. I read the 125 Pulitzer Prize-winning NYT every day and it's chock full of news — maybe you bought a knockoff?

You Fake News™ types are really just clearly suckers for the age-old propaganda/disinformation campaign that Trump is recycling from the Soviets, Nazis, tin pot dictatorships, etc. Oldest trick in the book.

I simply said I didn’t like the New York Times (“Slimes”) and you have resorted to name-calling; have immediately assumed I am Trump supporter; and suggested that I support Nazi tactics for spreading propaganda.  

Good grief.  Let’s go ahead and lock comments, shall we admins?

This news doesn’t hurt my feelings at all. The New York Slimes isn’t really news anymore.  

They sure took their time coming to this decision.
