  • Hands on with iOS 13 'Look Around' in Apple Maps

    chasm said:
Apple states that they plan on having all of the US photographed and mapped by the end of 2019, with plans to do other countries in the year after.
Do we have confirmation that Look Around will be available covering the whole US?
They did say that they “plan” to have the US fully mapped — by which they mean cities and most neighbourhoods — by the end of the year, but of course “plan” is a word with some wiggle room. I would expect that US cities will be good to go by the end of the year, with some gaps in especially rural/unincorporated areas. I hope they’ll also have at least the major Canadian cities mapped by that time as well, as those are some of my frequent destinations.
The Apple "Lookaround" Car has already been spotted in Canada and they advertised that this summer they are going coast to coast.

  • Apple Maps mislabeling locations in rural Canada

Apple Maps doesn't understand that a city near me incorporated 10 years ago and changed it's name. If I type in my cousin's address using the new name, it directs me to a similar sounding street name in an entirely different city hours away. If I use the old name, it finds the address no problem. However, the new name is right there on the map and if I just search for the city by new name, it's found no problem.

  • Apple issues fifth macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 beta to developers, second released in a week...

Apple seems to have eliminated the ability to download the 10.12.6 Sierra installer in the App store as a previously 'Purchased' option, so unless one made a backup, or uses the repair disk option, fresh installs are forced onto a 10.13.0 macOS...

Has Apple crossed both draconian and practical lines here?

Sierra is still there, it's just hidden. Here's the App Store link.

  • Apple confirms KRACK Wi-Fi WPA-2 attack vector patched in iOS, tvOS, watchOS, macOS betas

Can The OP or author post a link from Apple.com with this confirmation?
Did you read the article? Apple wasn't the source, and they have reached out to Apple with no official response.
