Apple now displays iPhone and Mac repairability scores in France
cropr said:In this era of COVID we should let science be telling us what is safe and what is not safe, not use logic like "I can repair my brakes, so I should be allowed to repair my smartphone."
Indeed, science decide what safe is, but every individual must have to right to ignore that decision as long as others are not impacted by the consequences. The right to repair is a fundamental aspect as freedom, taking into account that freedom also brings responsibility with it. -
Apple shifts more production from iPhone 12 mini, to iPhone 12 Pro
Just simplify the line up. Drop the “pro” moniker, make 3 phones, iPhone mini, iPhone, iPhone max. Put the best camera tech in the max, and the other 2 exactly the same except for the size. For those wanting a cheaper phone, look to last years models.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Popsockets announces upcoming MagSafe-compatible grips for iPhone 12
I’ve found these things to be a symptom of a LARGER (phone) problem. I’m of the opinion, if you have to add one of things to the back of your phone to use it one handed, it’s too big.
that said, it makes complete sense to make these compatible with mag safe. My wife has had several of these break off after they’ve lost their stickiness. Magnets aren’t going to lose their fields anytime soon. -

It's not ONLY Russia leading these efforts.Cyberhacking along with its close cousin, disinformation, has become a new form of warfare and the U.S. needs to step up its response to it. A lot.Democracy depends on the people knowing the truth -- and these cybercrimes are undermining that foundation.
The real problem is those who listen to right wing propaganda sites -- and believe the bull.
