It's iPhone only. Naturally it runs in 1x or 2x on the iPad but it's not designed for iPad. Philips' software development efforts are less than impressive, considering they seem to have bold goals for the Hue line of products.

Of note, at both 38 and 50 seconds, it's pretty clear that the phone in the video has a regular 3.5mm headphone jack. So maybe this isn't the rumored iPhone 7.

It's also not the same as the iPhone 6S or 6S Plus models disassembled by MacFixit. The internal arrangements are very similar but not exactly the same as what MacFixit photographed.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying. The encryption algorithms are widely known, but useless without the keys. That's fundamentally why encryption works. There is no way to have both security and access at the same time. Playing security against safety is setting up a false dichotomy so we won't think about the loss of liberty we suffer if those engaged in this power grab are successful.
