  • IOGear 2-port 4K KVM: Simple, cost-effective multi-Mac control

The article doesn't mention this, but it appears to support only HDMI, which means it won't work with the Apple Studio Display, which appears to support only Thunderbolt/USB-C. KVM models that support Thunderbolt tend to cost 3x to 8x this price. Why is this?

I'm no expert with KVMs, but I sure wish you could use a piece of software to trigger the switch between computers, rather than switching only using the physical button. Do any models of KVM support this?
I use this one between my Mac Mini and Volterra using USB-C only. My keyboard and mouse plug into my M7 monitor which then goes into the KVM. The two computers use USB-C cables to connect, and it has a physical button (only, I'm afraid) to switch between the two.

It's not perfect; if the device is asleep, sometimes it takes a few seconds to awake or notice that the keyboard has been "plugged in" but other than that works flawlessly and at 4K resolution for both computers.

  • SiriusXM comes to Apple CarPlay for easier control

If you tell them that you are cancelling to go with an online streaming service, as I just did with my wife's car, they'll offer the non-streaming package first. I tell them I'd use the streaming more, and then they came back with the same 6 months for $30, but it included the full streaming package. With SiriusXM, you can almost name your price and they'll do it. I told them that I was paying $3.99/month for Slacker, and then they came back with that offer. An extra $1/month was worth it for having it active in her car and on my phone.
