Apple AR headset codenamed 'T288' said to run new 'rOS' operating system, launch as soon a...
"Unlike other headsets that require a smartphone or other devices to power them" - I didn't have Google Glass, but I vaguely remember that it could operate standalone. That was actually part of it's downfall (aside from the camera fiasco) - the short battery life due to all the onboard tech! So I completely disagree with the Bloomberg article - I think Apple's AR glasses will be a companion product - just like Apple Watch was/is. I coincidentally just posted my thoughts on this this morning: http://landofwolf.blogspot.com

Apple and the future of photography in Depth: iPhone 8 Plus

Come on Tim. You have billions. YOu should EASILY beat every camera on the market.
Yet DXO has the Pixel2 a higher rating than the 8 Plus.
But, of course, you know this, right? You’re the one who always knows better than Tim Cook.
That the Pixel2 beat out the iPhone camera is disturbing. So much so that I dumped all my Apple shares. Been holding since 2012.
I call bullshit, because only a complete idiot would sell his shares over a recent third-party camera ranking.
The camera was the last straw.
Plus I saw a better opportunity = Shopify shares for $95. I just believe its a better investment at this time then Apple. -

The Watch will remain a niche product. Strapping an IPhone to your arm seems more practical, unless you have money to burn.
IOS11 is great (by the way) navigation works well, it’s noticeably faster, and I think battery life has improved.
Can't say anything about fat & ugly - except that it isn't to me - but it does make phone calls - if you had bothered to read the first few paragraphs of the article, you would know that. And as to it being a 'niche' product, I think you need a little help with what a 'niche' is. No definition I've ever come across would describe a product that's sold in the neighborhood of 40-50 million units and one that's now in the top spot in worldwide watch sales a "niche". That would mean that, by your definition, watches are 'niche' products.
