  • Spotify breaks 100 million paid subscribers, holding lead over Apple Music

100 million paid subscribers but still $158.3 million in losses? There’s no path to profitability here.
Good point. And Spotify is actively resisting paying artists what they consider 'fair'. I don't what that amount is personally, but Apple has not joined that resistance movement. Those losses you note, could rise if royalty structure ends up changing.

  • Spotify's call for different App Store treatment could help push Apple's revenue cut down

I really can't think of an example where a company has created a chain of stores at great cost, and then had manufacturers (aka developers) successfully demand terms for selling in their stores. If you have created the infrastructure, you get to have a big say on how much they pay to use your stores. Spotify provides a great service but it wants  'premium' Apple customers because it does not make any money from its Android users. Isn't that just the result of their bad business decisions rather than a basis for anti trust?

  • European Commission opens 'in-depth' investigation into Apple's acquisition of Shazam

"The investigation follows after requests from [blah, blah]..  and Sweden...". What a surprise. /s
Apple should be able to do whatever it wants with Shazam after purchase.
There are other apps (Soundhound) that do the same.
What is the big deal with EU? Are they running out of things to regulate?

  • Apple loses court battle over 'counterfeit' iPhone parts in Norway

I see a distinction between refurbished Apple screens and counterfeit Apple 'look alike' screens. Thus I agree with the court decision, as long as no customers were given the impression that these were warrantied Apple screens, and none returned their repaired phones to Apple for other warranty considerations (which is unlikely).

  • EU sets Apr. 23 deadline for approving or rejecting Apple's Shazam takeover

With all that the EU has to worry about these days, they have time to consider a song recognition app being of such importance? If this is not political and related to whining by Spotify, I am not sure why this iwould even be an issue.
What other pressing issues do the EU have to worry about in terms of anti-competitive industry practices?  Or are you suggesting that the staff they employ to investigate and regulate industry could be simply transferred to whatever area your particular gripe is with (immigration right?  It's always immigration).
"..anti-competitive industry practices.." LOL. Seems like you have your mind made up on this one, although it baffles me to think how the EU thinks Apple might fit in this. And to threaten a piddly 2M dollar fine is hardly a reflection of any serious breach. Spotify is having their IPO April 3, well ahead of the ruling by the EU on April 23rd. Follow the money..
