  • Apple just released iPadOS 13.1 - here's what features to look for

I updated to iPadOS this morning and it keeps asking me to update Apple ID Settings. I enter my iCloud password and it goes away and pops back up again in the settings app 30 seconds later. I probably have entered my password a dozen times now. Anyone have this issue? It's pretty annoying.

  • Disney now accepting pre-orders for Disney+ streaming service

I never get why anyone would Pre-order for Digital content? What, you think they'll run out?
For video games, there is a benefit to pre-ordering the digital version. You are able to preload the game days before release. For those on the west coast, you can actually play the game a day before release. People like me with terrible internet speeds, that's a big deal. Sure, you can go out and buy a physical copy, but there will always be a huge release day update you will need. With my crap internet, it's more beneficial for me to pre-order a digital version than buying a physical copy.

  • Camera comparison: iPhone 11 versus iPhone 11 Pro

I’m curious as to how well the latest cameras do verses older ones with capturing the night sky.

If I want to get a night time photo that captures the landscape with the stars in the sky, can I do this with Night Mode on a tripod?
I just upgraded to a 11 Pro Max from an XS Max. I tried capturing the northern lights with the XS Max and it did a terrible job. I've only played around with the 11 Pro Max since release and it does a much better job. I was actually impressed I was able to capture stars I couldn't see with the naked eye. I was testing out the camera handheld. I actually haven't tried using a tripod yet. The shots I took, there was light pollution and the scene wasn't completely dark. Having said that, I don't think any phone will do well capturing a landscape with stars in the sky, even if you use a third party app that gives you manual controls. Say for example you are in a national park and you want to capture the stars, I don't think it would even be possible with a phone. It won't be able to focus properly. When I'm shooting landscape shots with stars in them, I focus my Nikon D850 while its still light out and leave it on a tripod until it gets dark.

  • iPhone 11 Pro review - Buy for the better camera, stay for the battery life

I upgraded to the 11 Pro Max from an XS Max. The camera alone is worth the upgrade in my opinion. I've been testing out the new camera and I'm pretty impressed. The new night mode is really amazing. I was testing out night mode on a dark sky filled with stars and a small amount of light pollution. Surprisingly, the iPhone was able to capture stars I couldn't see with the naked eye. This was handheld as well. Sure there is grain in the photo, but this isn't a DSLR. The photos I took aren't really blurry either. Pretty impressive considering this is a phone camera.

  • Contradictory iPhone 11 Pro drop tests reveal easily breakable/highly durable glass

The thing about glass is it all depends on how it hits. I've had regular glass jars land on concrete and bounce several times without cracking. I've also dropped the same jars from a few inches and had them seem to explode. Gorilla Glass might be more resistant to shattering, but the same rule applies. It all depends on how it hits. That's why I keep my phone in a case.
So true. I've dropped my phone several times on a tile floor and nothing happened. I dropped my iPad on the same floor and the whole screen shattered. I was watching another durability test on Youtube and someone took a 2-3 lb hammer to the screen on a 11 Pro Max. It didn't crack until the 4th hit I believe. The scratch test they did on the back, the iPhone held up really well.
