  • Porn and gambling apps abuse Apple's Enterprise Certificates process to avoid App Store ru...

We need to know what apps are falling afoul Apple’s guidelines...for scientific reasons, of course...
Haha...for scientific purposes I searched for the app (PPAV) that's shown in the article but didn't find it. Must only be available in China.

  • Apple's weak Chinese iPhone sales blamed directly on high prices

So Chinese phone makers, who literally stole every once of technology available from the West to make their products, are undercutting Apple and Samsung on price? Wow, who would have thought that? And Huawei, who products are banned the U.S. because of their association with the totalitarian regime in China, and whose executives have been arrested and charged in the West, are thriving in the Chinese domestic market. Yet it’s Apple prices that are at the bottom of this decline? Okay, I guess so?
I think you are spot on. It's not the higher prices. Huawei and other Chinese smartphone makers are copying Apple and Samsung and pushing out phones undercutting both companies. Plus it doesn't help with the controlled media in China pushing Chinese nationalism and telling people to buy phones from Huawei. Even businesses in China are encouraging workers to buy Huawei by offering subsidies.

I am not sure how many people read the story of the Saudi woman who recently 'escaped' to Canada and got political asylum. The only way she was able to do this (after getting her passport by 'stealing' it from her father) was by getting into this app on her father's iPhone ( she obviously had the password) and changing the notification emails/texts to her own email/phone number. This meant that when she left the country she was able to deal with the text alert when her passport was scanned. Saudi Arabia is the worlds largest women's prison.
I was actually just reading an article about a woman who fled to Australia a few years ago. She did the exact same thing. Got onto her fathers phone and changed the permissions for her to travel. She then turned off notifications on his phone. Even if Apple/Google removed the app, it's not going to make a difference. Absher also has a desktop version so someone would still be able to receive notifications if a women was leaving the country.

    I am a bit confused.
Does the app provides all those functions to cotrol women? Also the app can track if the passort was used?

The app provides all kinds of options for services through the Saudi government like paying parking fines. If you read the article that was cited, it shows so called male guardians can approve when, where, how long, etc a woman can travel for on the desktop version of Absher. Her passport is entered into the system. I imagine when the passport is scanned at an airport, that's when the app will give you a text/notification alert. I assume since this is a government app, its all tied in together when passports of women are scanned.
