Mac losing focus of Jony Ive, others in Apple management - report

I personally don't understand how Apple as the largest company in the world with no concerns about cash flow can't have multiple successful product teams going.
How hard is it for them to put out a decent looking updated monitor for example?
The culture there sounds brutal too...?- iTunes is a half ass bag of mess that confuses and frustrates everyone.
- Photos app is even more confusing and weak. The interface is so poorly thought out and confusing for most.
- It appears the Time Capsules/base stations/expresses are on the way out.
- They pretty much said FU to the pro video editors with the stripping down of FCP.
- Mail, calendar and notes apps seem to be forgotten.
- They are letting a great opportunity to steal MS Office customers slip from their grasp by not developing Pages, Numbers and Keynote. I can't tell you how many clients are continually frustrated with Office's memory leaks and constant crashes. Yet, most users have no clue that Pages, for example can open and save as Word documents.
- Then there is the lack of allowed customization of your computer and it's Operating System. People miss the ability to add RAM, a video card or a hard drive. And my god give us back color icons in the sidebar.

Executive leading HealthKit, other software platforms leaves Apple

HELL NO.
why? Because of Tim Cook's dumb ass privacy crusade she has one hand tied behind her back.
How the hell can she do here job if Cook refuses to use the data from hundreds of millions of Apple users?
Tim Cook needs to resign. His dumb ass social, policital, and privacy crusades are hurting the company.
Apple has 500 million of the most valuable customers on the planet. Yet Cook refuses to use the data from these customers to open more revenue streams.
Cook preaches privacy, yet Google is still the default search on iOS.
Cook preaches privacy, yet 80-90% of iOS users use Facebook or Google or both.
Its beyond pathetic that Apple's competitors attack Apple's main revenue streams by bringing out hardware products.
Yet Apple refuses to fight back with their own search, social, and AI platforms.
If Cook had half a brain Apple would have developed and released a Google search competitor by now. Or a Facebook competitor. But because of Cooks dumb ass privacy crusade we see neither. And Amazon, Samsung, Microsoft, ect continue to make inroads into Apple's hardware business.
Close to 99% use Facebook or Google or Amazon or Netflix. All of these companies use your data.
No one cares. Especially not the majority of Apple customers.
The only one who cares is Tim Cook.
Personally, I hold back as much personal info from Facebook and Google that I can. I use throwaway email addresses and never give my birthday, etc. I would hope most people would follow suit, but they don't.
The point is, Apple's stance on privacy makes their brand more valuable and therefore sells them more product. -
Apple axes Wi-Fi router division, apparently signaling the end of AirPort
I too am a little confused by this. It may not be profitable on the surface, but the Time Capsule and Airport Expresses are key components to the Apple ecosystem. Streaming music throughout the house and backing up a household of Macs are a shame to lose. Perhaps unknwntrr is correct and they don't need their own team. -
Apple updates Final Cut Pro X with Magnetic Timeline, redesigned UI for new MacBook Pro Touch Bar

If I can get a concrete statement from Apple stating what you said, we will hold off switching but in reality we just can't wait any longer. We require a bunch of new systems and its costing us tons of dollars in lost productivity. We've already done our homework and specked out Dell and HP Xeon machines. We are littlerly a click away from moving forward and after that, there is no going back. If Apple would at least lower their prices on the current 3 year old MacPros, we would pick up a few to get by, but there is no way we are paying those prices for these machines.
