  • Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad, & Magic Mouse may soon be upgraded with USB-C

I know I am in the minority, but I thought that the Magic Mouse (especially the second one with recharging) was an excellent mouse. Well, to be fair, it became excellent once I had BetterTouchTool installed. I could do a whole lot with it! I had to switch to a vertical mouse due to potential carpal tunnel, but I did love that mouse!
I've used BBT for over 15 years... at this point I don't know if I could go without it.

Backlighting on the keyboards would sure be nice
The lack of this simple long-overdue feature forces me to use a third party keyboard. As much as I'd love the convenience of Touch ID, I work and type a lot at night, so I absolutely need a backlit keyboard.

C'mon Apple, take (more of) my money!

yes, after the surgery they see their favorite movies  :D
You hope it's "after" and not "during"... would hate my surgeon to be laughing it up to Ted Lasso during my procedure... and for God's sake, please turn on "Do Not Disturb"...  :s

  • Apple's largest research lab outside the US opens in China

Putting a research lab in China makes no sense. China has a well-deserved reputation for intellectual property theft. That's bad enough with the items are already in production. It's far worse to have ideas stolen when they're still under development. China could be releasing Apple-designed products before Apple itself does so.

    Crazy, crazy, crazy.
I agree. All it takes is for the Chinese government to declare everything researched in that lab belongs to them. They just arrested 4 Taiwanese executives for being Taiwanese in China. How many more literal red flags do you need?

  • US Department of Justice considering a break-up of Google after monopoly ruling

"However, it is adamant that splitting off Chrome or Android "would break them -- and many other things." Saying that Google has invested billions of dollars in both of these, Mulholland points out that it offers them for free.

"Few companies would have the ability or incentive to keep them open source, or to invest in them at the same level we do," she says. "

At which point the entire Mozilla Firefox team did a spit-take with their morning coffee, gasping for oxygen as they doubled over in uncontrollable laughter...
