Now if only the buffoon Al Gore would take a hike.
Al Gore created climate change alarmism to get rich off the global warming pyramid scheme. He should be in jail for fraud.
Moron. You Americans must be the only country in the world denying the facts of this cataclysmic disaster, this mass extintion that you, in the first place, are causing to the whole human race. All because it may cost you... money ... to recognize the truth. All to turn on your HVAC's and trash your 1k$ phones every year... I would say you will regret this selfish attitude in 10 years... but surely you won't, no matter what evidence is on front of your face, you will prefer blindness if to be honest for once may prive you of minutes looking at your brand-new glass toy.
Even a 16 years old girl is able to acknowledge this. But not you, the "greatest country in the world"...

  • Dubious Taiwan telecom slide claims Apple won't change iPhone pricing

I had hopes that declining sales will teach them a lesson on pricing but looks they are too stubborn to accept the truth, or too greedy !
I don't think that lower demand caused by higher prices took them by surprise (unless they don't have a clue about the basics of economy, or they are completely stupid. They aren't). They perfectly knew that this would happen, and yet they executed it anyway, then doubled the bet last year, rising prices again. They even pushed the same situation for most other products... except, aha!, iPads. And guess which is the only hardware line (besides some wearables) showing some growth? Yes, Ipads. As a personal statement, I promised myself that I won't buy iPhones or Macs that have increased their prices in some cases by over 50% in my country in the last couple of years. In fact, the only  products my family has bought in the last two years have been... several iPads. We are even starting to use them more frequently! The real question imho is, which is the long term plan, and how this non-achievable-for-most-people-pricing-policy fit in that strategy? Because, I think these price targets won't stand much longer, or sales will sink. And I think tech history shows this process is not gradual and it is hardly reversible: when it happens, it it is violent and painful. I also thought this was the right time to do it, but didn't have any hopes on that. Now Apple is against the wall: they can't recognize a pricing problem and launch new phones at lowered prices; but they can't stand up much longer in this situation of products so obviously outside optimum point in the price/demand curve. But, I insist, there MUST be a long term plan in this, designed years ago. I just can't see which one it could be.

  • Apple Music web browser player launches in beta

Yet more unwanted features in Music, while not fixing its nightmarish interface or the hundreds of flaws, some of them just unbelievable. After ever a decade paying for iTunes Match or Music, I finally moved to Tidal. Within hours I was wondering why I was so stubborn that I didn't that before. Every single aspect if way better. To start with, you can - yes, really-, *search* for content, with pre-emptive typing (almost never you need to type the whole artist name), typing error tolerance, multiple searching words that the app actually understands ("Mahler 2nd Kaplan" actually list the two recordings I am searching by that conductor... yes, Tidal can be used for classical music also, can you believe it?); record and tune by tune information about players, recording dates, etc. Summing up: a real relational database working behind the scenes, the one that Apple has been so lazy as to implement after all these years, instead of easy solution of using the very basic album metadata...
...Tidal's catalog is as large or bigger than Music ... Tidal, but not Apple, is fully consistent in its IOS or MacOS versions (but not, and by a long shot, the very Apple that produces both OS...).  Not to talk about streaming quality, losses and better (MQA). Then you ask: why a tiny company like Tidal can do it, and the largest corporation of the world can't? Why does Apple worries about hires display, hires video content, etc., but can not stream hires audio, that would demand a tiny fraction of bandwidth compared? ... So, right, currently every single product or service of Apple related with music is basically the verge of being trash!

....    I am so, so fed up with Apple and the unbelievably stupid flaws in almost every product I'm still using, after more than 30yrs of only Apple products...

  • Editorial: After taking the premium tier, HomePod will expand in markets Amazon and Google...

No, it's not a great article. The problem with Daniel is that each time somebody has the adventurousness to criticize anything about Apple, even when that person Is a known Apple follower like Kirk, DED vomites his diatribes to him. DED: HoPs are not good sounding speakers, they are not even a decent stereo speaker. If you keep sustaining that, we must conclude you don't have a clue of what you are talking about.

Kirk is absolutely right. HoPs were promoted by Apple as high fidelity alternative to the crap of "smart" speakers out there (And I agree they are crap: precisely the point). But it fell absolutely short in that, in spite of the spectacular possibilities its stellar technological design could have allowed. It is NOT a stereo speaker, it is a boom-box aberration regarding faithful music reproduction. The fact that it has an array of tweeters pointing in all directions, with some software controlling its dispersion patterns, doesn't make it a "stereo speaker" if it is not properly controlled by software, and working in tandem, software that this now fat-Apple is just too lazy to do. The stereo experience requires a precise and controlled projection of sound, to a specific point in space where the listener is located; it requires a control of the phasing of waves between both speakers, in order to project each instrument at a specific virtual point in space. Requires the recreation of depth of the recorded event. The HoPs do exactly the opposite in all those aspects. The only aim of Apple is to fill with sound the room, not to recover the spatial event engraved in the record.

Among many disappointments I had with Apple in the recent years, the way they've been handling all what's related with music is the biggest one. Music interface is almost unusable; the flaws in the service counts by the hundreds, and I found new ones almost daily; the unbelievable refusal (approaching 2020!), to stream lossless music (at least, as a paid option) is just infuriating: Apple may have exquisite retina displays, transmit 4K video content in high quality, but an't transmit music in the same HQ fashion, when it would demand a tiny fraction of te bandwidth of video?. The promises unfulfilled by HomePod are perplexing. Not to talk about the performance of Siri as the main way to command HoPs: Siri IS bad by nature; a Siri that has to trust in an inexistent relational database of music is simply useless.

Why doesn't a pair of HoPs make a better acoustic scanning of the room, given they could triangulate every detected response with both working in tandem, for much better adaptive sound patterns? Why that awfully bass-heavy tuning of the units? Why they can't track users position and give a true *stereo* experience (without that, a pair of omnidirectional speakers only make things worse: they just render a mud of sound)? etc.
The article hopes for the HoP upgrade coming in two weeks. Apple will certainly move exactly in the opposite direction of the initial promise: a Speaker that would disrupt the home audio market, they way Apple used to do.

Knowing I had to upgrade my speakers, I waited and waited for the HomePods first to handle a paired stereo, then to finally arrive to my country -literally for years-. And yet, after all this time they are still not available here. When I finally got them, OMG, what a disappointment!. I end up buying a pair of used KEF LS50 (the passive ones) at little more than the price of one HoP, and the quality is order of magnitude better than that boom-box of Apple. THAT is nice stereo, DED, not the HoPs! THAT is, at least if not even better, what Apple was supposed to do with the HoPs! Then I wonder: why the spectacular ten anechoic chambers they built, why the stellar team of world renowned acoustic engineers recruited for the project, why all that: for that piece of sh...?

In the end, I think Apple at some point in time lost sight of what is the true purpose of this product. I think that low IQ of Iovine had much to do with that, he must have pushed the company to make the boombox HoP finally is, just like his Beats headphones crap. And the result could be -awfully- listened.
