  • Apple sued for not paying New York Apple Store staff weekly

We've come a very long way in this country if we consider unboxing products and emptying cash registers "manual labor." The law must have been written for ditch diggers, hod carriers, masons, roofers, carpenters, house painters, and so on. Unless the complainant regularly (every day) lugged Mac Pro boxes to the customers' waiting limousines or cabs, this sounds like the Venn diagram overlap of a slightly unhinged ex-employee and an unethical attorney.

In USA,corporations, government and IRS put more trust in people to do right. As a side effect, it give immigrants(not aware of the US laws and it's reach) doing something wrong and a sense of easily getting away is higher than facing consequences. Thought process is when get caught, will handle. Until then just keep ripping the system.
But in US when law enforcement comes after you, you are finished. Unfortunately, some people don't get it until get caught and put in prison and if they put you with general prison population, you know what happens.
Well, this is white collar crime, so anyone convicted of these offenses probably won’t be going to a maximum-security prison. On the other hand, they may get to meet a higher dollar value sort of thief.

  • Satechi Type-C Aluminum Monitor Stand Hub review: Make your workspace more comfortable and...

Try as I might, I can't find a picture of the back of the unit.  I would assume there is a connecting cable out the back of this stand that connects to the iMac and you don't have to use the front port for that?

Every picture of the unit shows no cables attached to the stand.
The fourth photo on the Satechi site shows the back of the stand — and there are exactly zero ports there.

  • Leaked M1 Ultra Mac Studio benchmarks prove it outclasses top Mac Pro

Well, it looks good on number in the presentation. But let’s not forget the Ultra is comparing with a 2 year old Xeon. 2 years is a lot in computer technology. Not to mention, arguably AMD’s Epyc is the fastest CPU in the PC world.

Let’s hope the future Mac Pro will be even faster with 4/8 sets of CPU. But it might cost $8000 on the entry model.
Good luck on finding an Epic chipset in a gaming machine, Even alienware AMD machines have Ryzens, and there's this little issue with Ryzens and Windows....

  • Apple's Mac Studio launches with new M1 Ultra chip in a compact package

Okay, so there were two statements made that sealed the fate of the larger iMac. The first was that the Mac Studio and Studio display were the perfect for 27” iMac users. The second statement was at the very end when he said there was only one Mac left to transition, the Mac Pro.

So, there will be no iMac Pro, no iMac with a larger screen. The 24” iMac is it. The Mac Studio is the future and I’m okay with that.

Sounds exactly right. The heat dissipation in the Midi, er, Studio clearly dictated the height of the enclosure, and that, in turn, meant there was no way they could fit the same cooling capacity into an M1 Double Wide, er, Ultra-powered 27 (or larger)-inch iMac and still retain a slim profile. Unless with some future generation of M<something> chips Apple manages to achieve even higher performance with less heat generation.
