  • Apple's headset drastically changed over time & top execs are skeptical

Don’t believe it. Designed to lower expectations while the product blows people away. As initially a largely a developer tool, a sale at near cost is reasonable. The lower cost versions will make up for it.

  • New implant allows users to control iPhone & iPad with brain

It is not a thought that produces the change, but a consistent brainwave change. The detected brainwave change results in the signal to the device. Anything that results in such a change will work; no particular “thought” is required. The change occurs and is reinforced by a commensurate change in the device. This is why monkeys and other organisms can be likewise trained. It sounds sensational to say control by thoughts, but that is not what is happening.

  • Apple still plans iPad Pro updates for fall 2022

My wife has a 2020 iPad Pro and has seldom used multitasking. I showed her what she is missing in StageManager, she said she didn’t care, and likes he machine just fine. My guess is many, if not most, feel this way. I could see the Pros always move to the next generation M chip ahead of the Air. It will be interesting to see what happens with the mini. Will it get an M1, or stay in the A series? The entry level iPad will always stay with the lower performance chips and therefore be in the A series for awhile.

  • Early macOS Big Sur adopters running into teething issues

I have used it since it was released with none of the problems described. I find it an absolute delight.

  • Rumored 'iPhone SE 2' shown off in new renders and video

The SE, as I understood it, referred to Special Edition. It was sold as a one-off, not a recurring line. Similarly, this phone is in the same category. The name iPhone Classic would be appropriate here. Apple is no longer conflating size with price. There will be a smaller phone in 2020, the 5.4 inch iPhone 12, but it will not be sold at a budget price. It will have smaller overall dimensions than the iPhone 8. The iPhone Classic will be larger, but much less expensive. The only remaining question for the low end phone is if it will have wireless charging? For $399, it may not.

The 2020 line up is likely:
    iPhone Classic $399 64 GB, ($449 128 GB) A13
    iPhone XR $499 A12
    iPhone 11 $599 A13
    iPhone 12, 5.4 inch $649 A14
    iPhone 12, 6.1 inch $749 A14
    iPhone 12 Pro, 6.1 inch $999 A14
    iPhone 12 Pro Max, 6.7 inch $1099 A14
