  • Apple stops shipping 5W power adapter, EarPods with any iPhone order

In the keynote Apple said they have shipped 2 Billion chargers so far, so by not shipping a charger will reduce the carbon footprint - fair enough, most people have standard USB chargers at home anyway, but by shipping new phones only with a USB-C cable, those ubiquitous chargers aren’t USB-C so $$$$ for Apple selling a USB-C charger with a percentage of purchases (and there goes the so called carbon footprint 🤔).
This assumes that the user in question doesn't already have a USB-A to Lightning cable. There are literally billions of those cables in existence.

This benefits the user. They already have a free charging solution (likely several of them) that works with the new product: old charger plus old cable. And in addition, they now have a new USB-C to Lightning cable that they can use as soon as they get a USB-C charger of any kind. Those chargers are already very, very common. You get one with every iPad, and with every Mac, and third-party USB chargers now increasingly include USB-C.

I hope they put the new TouchID button from the IPad Air on the new iPhone. FaceID is great and all, but this mask-wearing pandemic doesn’t seem to be letting up for at least another year... having the phone respond automatically to either FaceID and TouchID would be a godsend.
Pretty sure that's what they're doing.
Huh? There is zero chance of that. Zero. Even if Apple wanted to, the design was fixed many months ago and manufacturing has already begun. Not to mention the ten other reasons this isn't feasible.

Blame Cook. He doesn’t know what he’s doing with product and customer service.
Yes. Right. That's why Apple consistently leads the entire industry in customer satisfaction ratings.

    Idiotic comment.

  • Five years later, the Apple Card is a huge but controversial success

Repeating the unsubstantiated and spurious allegation from David Heinemeier Hansson is shameful. It has been a year now, and still, no evidence of any kind has surfaced to back up his allegations. What's overwhelmingly likely is that he applied first, and then his wife applied, and since their credit is linked, he had already exhausted the credit line available for them as a couple. Or, it possible that she just didn't have a very good income/credit history on her own. In any case, there is *zero* evidence that Apple or Goldman was discriminatory here, and much evidence to the contrary. Yet your article continues to describe this scurrilous accusation as "serious".

    That's just poor editing.

  • 2020 iPad Pro renders show triple-camera bump and glass back

Dear idiots, if you put a bump on the iPad, you won't be able to lay it flat to type on it. Apple makes some truly stupid mistakes, but this would be stupid on scale I've not seen before.
Update yourself on current facts before mouthing off in public. The current iPad Pro already has a camera bump. But this doesn't matter since basically everyone has a case on it, rendering the back flat again.
