    I suspect things like this will happen more and more often with CarPlay.  Remember that Apple isn't in control of the hardware this time.  The underlying hardware and software stack in the car can be anything... say even a Pentium II running Windows 95!!  Probably not but you get the idea.  The hardware and software in the car basically lets your iPhone take over the interface with the CarPlay protocol.  If they screw up the OS or the protocol on the car end then there's really nothing Apple can do about it.

    In a way it's the same problem Google is having with Android.
