Apple investors shrug off Samsung Galaxy S8 event, send stock upward
I'm not invested in phones, so a 4s with a smashed back and a silicone case to keep the glass together works for me. So just purely on an objective observational pov I'm amazed at the love that this phone has been getting. The curved edges are a design error and the back of the phone just looks like the type of design cues that are directly from a 15 year old feature phone. What is good about the curved edge display on the Samsung phone is that for certain Apple will stay flat so that will be a defining and stark aesthetic difference. Apple stuff these days generally uses timeless design criteria, the curved edge screen will not stand the test of time but Samsung are locked into it now. Apple must have pissed themselves laughing when they realised that Samsung was going to all in with that concept. As if Samsung were expecting Apple to copy it. -

Leaks show off Samsung's Galaxy S8 & S8+ ahead of March 29 reveal
Apple will not have a screen curved on the edge like that. Why? because it's a design disaster because you will always get an annoying reflection on the sides. Only the gimmicky Samsung could come up with that. It could possible have glass that curved down the sides but there would have to be no display under the curve, but I can't see that either. A nice flat screen surface is really a must.
