  • Nicki Minaj says Spotify retaliated against her for Apple Music show

Meh, she seems paranoid to me.

  • Apple has big ambitions in expanding vital sign monitoring, continuing hiring spree

Good stuff! Health monitoring seems to be a great growth area for Apple. And I reckon it was Tim Cook that decided this to be a priority for development. Even if he left Apple tomorrow, I believe this would be his legacy, as well as captaining Apple’s huge growth over the last 7 years or so.

  • Ralph Nader once again assails Apple's stock buybacks

Another hard left lanky spewing their ill-informed biased vitriol against a successful ‘Capitalist’ company. I bet like Sanders he thinks the Iranian regime is the bees knees and Socialists should rule the world. I wonder if he’ll agree to appear on Iranian state TV like Britain’s Corbyn was happy to do going on an anti-establishment tirade. Don’t get me wrong I’m no Trump fanboy. The guy’s a douche and a bully. But G.. help the world if as a reaction to Trumps antics, Socialists like Sanders and Corbyn ultimately come to power. It’ll be the 1970s in the UK all over again. Why don’t people vote in experienced normal ‘middle of the road’ politicians anymore? (rhetorical) I know they can be slippery too (politics always has been, it’s the nature of the beast) but at least they’re not fanatics. The larger the middle-class (socio-economically that is) the more stable and tolerant a society is. That’s historically just how it is, and that hasn’t changed no matter what the hard-left and hard-right are trying (with scary success it increasingly seems) to convince everybody into believing.

  • Autodesk dropping support for Alias and VRED in macOS Mojave over OpenGL deprecation

Oh great, as predicted Apple's abandonment of OpenGL is causing developers to drop macOS support even before Mojave is out. Maybe a few more of these announcements will cause them to change course, though Apple's not really known for listening to its customers on things like this. But of course, this is good for Apple customers and Apple knows best..!
Stow the ‘oppressed 12-year old’ act nobody’s fooled.  Cheap tricks to trigger an imposition with Ballmer-esque ‘my way or the highway’ babble doesn’t wash with Apple users.  Apple decides what it’s products do, we decide if we buy them.

Perhaps the headline should read; “Company that can’t be bothered to update it’s software retroactively blames Apple.”

I was hoping Autodesk would come to the Metal-party mainly on iPad but, like Adobe, I guess they’ll just be an also-ran as any developer who puts self-interest before customer experience deserves to be.
Adobe an also-ran? They have the industry they serve by the balls! I don’t know, is Apple forcing developers to drop the Mac? Metal is all well and good, but keep good compatibility with older industry standards until it’s better established. Giving Mac users a larger choice. Just another nail in the coffin of MacOS. And when you’re able to run iOS apps on the Mac, what’s going to be the incentive then to develop new ones that make the most out of what a Mac can offer over the underpowered and under featured non-pro versions coming over from iOS.

  • Actor Orlando Bloom stops play because of audience member just holding an iPad

I perfectly understand the guy! How many times have you been at the cinema when some selfish bloody oik takes out their smartphone and starts messaging or talking with it? It’s a pain in the ass!
