  • Bluetooth & Wi-Fi can't be fully disabled via iOS 11 Control Center, Apple says

Bluetooth on my 5S for what ever reason triggers very rapid battery drain. This is all a bit of a pain in the ass. So I'm not upgrading to iOS 11 on the 5S. I barely use any of the bells and whistles on iOS anyway, also I'm upgrading to an 8 Plus once it becomes available in my part of the world. So I'll hold off for now.

  • Early reviews paint Apple's iPhone 8 & 8 Plus as good devices overshadowed by iPhone X

I'm not waiting for a hard to get (and first-gen, best to wait for the second-gen with Apple) X. I'm going for the 8 Plus. As my current iPhone is the venerable old 5S! The 8 Plus will be a major upgrade for me.

  • Apple discontinues (Product)Red iPhone 7, ups iPad Pro pricing

I find it a little sneaky on Apple's part that they always remain shtum on the not so great changes that they make. Like I only found out by going through the specs of the new iPhones on Apple's website that with iOS 11 they've dropped support for WAV and AIFF audio files on the iPhone 7, 8 and X. Most of my music library on iTunes is encoded in WAV ripped from my CD collection...I won't now be able to play most of my music on one of the newer iPhones. I just hope Apple doesn't pull support for those formats in iTunes on the Mac, if they do I'm screwed! I'll have to re-rip hundreds of CDs again, and I'm not subscribing to compressed inferior audio on Music!

  • 7th-gen iPod touch with Face ID hinted at in iOS 11 GM code

This doesn't make sense. Why would Apple offer an esoteric new feature like Face ID on an iPod Touch and not on the upcoming iPhone 8/8 Plus? The latest-gen Touch ID would suffice on such a device. Maybe its for next year, when all new iPhones (9/9 Plus) will incorporate the tech.

  • 'Apple TV 4K' shipping with six-core A10X Fusion chip, 3GB of RAM [u]

Its truly sad that the AppleTV4 will basically be worthless when this 'real' AppleTV comes out.

I'm really disappointed how half assed the ATV4 was, despite Cook saying TV was no longer a hobby.

    1. No live TV package. Absolutely no excuse. When also ran's like Playstation, Youtube, Hulu, and Dish have live TV packages.

    2. Total mishandling of Games. Requiring Siri controller support and ridiculous limits on file sizes.

    3. Siri Remote. Horrible symetrical design.

For all those reasons I refrained from purchasing the TV4 last year and waited for the new TV5. My current TV3 has served me very well so far.
