  • Inside iOS 10: With Game Center app gone, invites are managed by Messages

A quick question though: Where do we see our achievements and overall scores? This really seems like a step backwards since we apparently will no longer have achievements.
Good question, I'd like to read some answers to that too.

  • Rumor: 'Aggressive' plans for second-gen Apple Watch could ship 2M per month

watchOS 3 looks to be a major improvement, and a faster second generation model would be a good move (hopefully it'll be A7 derived).
People aren't playing Infinity blade or editing video on their watch, and they probably never will, so A7 would be massive overkill and a waste of die space and battery power. I'd rather have them spend that transistor budget on LTE.

At this point, a 32 bit processor in the performance range of the A4 would be *plenty* for the Watch. Also maybe a bit more RAM and/or 3d XPoint and/or faster flash to help with speed in launching/switching apps.

I believe when Apple introduced the Watch a while back it was considered that the S1 already had the equivalent performance of an A5!

  • Inside watchOS 3: Apple Watch gets improved glance-ability with new complications, watch faces

Out of all the announcements at the WWDC this year. watchOS excited me the most. Making me now want an Watch while before I was more ambivalent. With new watch hardware expected this Fall, it could be the perfect storm!

  • Inside watchOS 3: Apple Watch gets more familiar with dedicated dock button

I get what Apple was trying to do with the first versions of watchOS, they were nice concepts just not very practical or intuitive. watchOS 3.0 seems to be a very good rethink, and has significantly upped my interest in the Watch. The new OS together with the rumoured 2nd-gen hardware coming this Fall has now made Watch a must have for me now.

  • Apple announces it will offer App Store subscriptions to all apps, take smaller 15% cut

I'm uneasy about this as a customer. With everything going towards the subscription model. Its going to end up being very expensive...it seems, for customers to keep their apps usable and up to date going forward. Call me old fashioned but I like to buy my apps outright and own rather than subscribe to the music I listen to. I'm not made of money and don't want to have to keep track of dozens of little payed for subscriptions on apps now too. But if the option remains to buy or subscribe to an app then that's okay. But I fear ultimately that buy option will go away.
