New York Apple Store stabbing and an iCloud hacker in the Apple Crime Blotter

With states like California effectively decriminalizing shop lifting and theft it’s no wonder the perp was upset he had to give back the stolen property, even in Texas. Thieves are getting the message all over the country. In California keep the theft under $950 and you’re good to go. No enforcement. Of course if the shop owner tries to stop the thief the owner will likely be arrested for assault. Isn't liberal America a great place to live!
if you took the time to review petty theft laws in states you would find the limitations to run from a low of $500 to as high as $1250. Your inference that California is somehow legalizing petty theft and doing something almost no one else is wrong and wreaks of politically motivated BS. Texas, all your favorite right wing controlled states are right in there. The ignorance you two display is unfortunate, but not uncommon. I hate ignorance and lazy liars who don’t bother with any attempt to learn the facts. Learn them. -
South Korea says Apple owes $46 million in unpaid taxes
anonymouse said:Yeah, the Samsung Trade Commission. A lot of regulations coming out of South Korea lately that seemed designed primarily to kneecap Apple and Google and promote Samsung. Perhaps it's time to send them a bill for the protection by US military forces.
BTW, South Korea pay the US billions for military presence of the USA. There is legit discussion over whether it should be more, but the deal was renegotiated about two years to significantly increase what they pay.
Have some facts and knowledge before you spout off. -
South Korea says Apple owes $46 million in unpaid taxes
Completely inaccurate headline.
The South Korean government said no such thing. A member of a minority party made a complaint based on their Trade Commission report. It is unlikely the ruling party will go along with it. There has been no ruling from the gov't that Apple now has to pay.
Samsung has nothing to do with it. The dumb speculation that Samsung is behind this makes for great conspiracy theory discussion. The reality is much less entertaining.
This is political and about getting elected and raising your profile and Apple has about the biggest target on their back of anyone.
And you know what? If Apple violated South Korean tax laws then they should pay just as Samsung has had to pay up hundreds of millions to their gov't over the last few years.
