Apple turns off data protection in the UK rather than comply with backdoor mandate
kkqd1337 said:Disappointed in Apple here. They should have stood up to the UK Government and just said no.
the other alternative would be to make a backdoor to all iPhone end to end encryption in the world and tell no one about it. That's what you'd rather them do? No, you just didn't read carefully. -
Examining Apple's record-breaking $89.6B quarter by the numbers
“ Quarterly earnings per diluted share were $1.40. That's technically down from $2.55 in the quarter one year ago, but that's primarily because of Apple's 4-for-1 stock split in August 2020.”
Thats technically incorrect. Your numerator [Earnings(2021)] and denominator [(Share Count(2020)] aren’t aligned. If you want to divide by an old share count that’s 4x fewer, you multiply current EPS by 4.Said another way, if you’re comparing to the pre-split share count, this quarter’s pre-split EPS was 1.40x4 = 5.6.So, no, this year’s EPS isn’t technically down. It’s technically up 119%
otherwise, good article.
