Would be a very smart bet to build a generalized autonomy framework. Look at all the companies out there racing to build complete autonomy solutions. A MacOS/iOS/Ax chip based framework that removes the heavy lifting would be very powerful. Companies could focus on autonomy policy rather than the basics. Driving will only be one of many uses for autonomy. Apple's basically already doing the same with augmented reality right now.

I wonder what the upgrade cycle will be on these watches. I have a Series 0 which I bought 2 yrs ago. I have zero interest in upgrading it at the moment. What might change my mind? Health sensors (glucose, blood pressure, tension/stress tracking) are about the only thing I think would make me jump. Battery life is more than adequate. I don't see a compelling use case for LTE.

Can't imagine they'd put a laser on the back at this point. So many other changes already in the works for the phone. Besides, their AR implementation is going to be backwards compatible so there's no need to introduce this kind of hardware and bifurcate the market until a nice support base has materialized around the shared hardware.

I've used the Oculus headset. It was interesting, but after 30 minutes I had my fill. Uncomfortable and low resolution, I don't see VR being compelling for awhile. Can't see spending my money on it.

would just prefer car play from a car owner perspective, but am curious to see how tesla seeks to innovate in this space. my guess is that they are 1) just trying to control their ecosystem and create a good user experience or 2) generating legitimate pressure on spotify/et al so they allow them to integrate with their service in the USA for a reasonable price.
