That’s an odd date, Apple TV plus new content usually debuts on a Friday.
Must be to coincide with the launch of the new iPhone! Maybe Bond finally upgrades from Android? 😄🤣🙃

  • Apple preparing iOS 14.8 release as iOS 15 launch nears

Turned off automatic updates … will not be updating to 14.8 and 15..
Apple has become  super creepy… all in a course of one week!!!… They have turend thier mantra completely upside down,  blatetantly saying  FU to every person who believed them on their privacy initiatives .. invested in that initiative and paid premiums  for that initiative ..  ( all down the drain)

From a champion of privacy to the creepiest company who blatently say’s your next version of software will have a built in survaylance spywear.!
    Photos now… what later?

Yes icloud can be turned off..    but that breaks the ecosys.. .. ecosys another selling point of Apple..
Turning off icloud .. also means less storage needs on the cloud… which means i dont need to subscribe to icloud storage space anymore… which hurts revinue and is blatently against shareholder interest.

What the F is going on at Apple!
Perhaps you should watch Rene Ritchie’s careful and detailed explanation of the new feature before you jump to any final conclusions. It’s long because it needs to be but it’s very helpful. I now have a clearer understanding of the whole thing…not perfect, but a lot clearer. Well worth your time.

Full disclosure: I don’t use Facebook, google (except for unsigned-in YouTube viewing) or Amazon services because of my passion for privacy. These companies, and let’s add Microsoft to the mix, have been doing something like this for years, but with far less privacy protection than Apple is proposing, it seems.

  • Apple stops 'woozy face' emoji from appearing when 'stammer' is typed

Good move, Apple. A simple fix for an unnecessary annoyance to a tiny minority of us. Thank you.

  • Stutter charity calls out Apple for 'stammering' emoji gaffe

Stammer can be used to describe when people do a one time stutter because they're confused or nervous. While I get what this group is saying, they don't get to change the meaning of the word stammer. They don't now 'own' that word.
I’m not sure what’s happening in this chat. It seems that there’s a distinct lack of empathy (consideration, even?) for those who suffer from stammering/stuttering. For a fuller understanding please take a look at this British medical site: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/stammering/. Also note the first synonym listed for ‘stammer’ in this US dictionary: https://www.merriam-webster.com/thesaurus/stammer. And vice verse: https://www.merriam-webster.com/thesaurus/stutter. In other words, the UK group is not trying to change the meaning of the term ‘stammer’ at all. They’re using it correctly. Even the name of their organisation, STAMMA, demonstrates that!
Please understand that for those who do stammer (stutter) it is not a trivial matter and I do not for one moment believe that the British association that has raised this matter is displaying a victim mentality. It’s simply the fact that the emoji that appears for the search term ‘stammer’ is not appropriate. All that needs to be done is to disassociate the one from the other. No one is asking Apple to move the emoji, just the association between the two (if I understand the matter correctly). It’s a sad thing to see the unsympathetic views expressed here.

Do people in the UK really say "stammer" when they mean "stutter?"  Stammer in the US is just momentary word garbage that happens to everyone from time to time. Do alcoholics get offended when they see the same emoji when they type in "drunk?"
I can’t speak for those in the UK but here in Ireland stammer and stutter are used interchangeably. I had a stammer/stutter in my earlier years and I find this emoji bears no relationship whatsoever to that experience. I can fully understand why some of those sufferers on the neighbouring island are offended. It implies that someone with a stammer or stutter is somehow like a drunk or dizzy person (as that’s what the emoji seems to convey). IMHO, of course.
