  • iPhone Fold - what the rumor mill thinks is on the way, and when

It still needs a compelling reason to exist.
Excitement is why we need it. iPhone 12/13/14/15/16 are mostly the same: MagSafe, OLED, 5G, Face ID, and design define 5 years of iPhones. Lenses, (lack of) colors, an extra button, and the notch size are different. The main feature of 16 is 2 GB extra memory enabling AI in 1 country at launch. The hardware is standing still.

I don't care if it folds, flips, slides, or rotates. And it doesn't have to make sense. The Dalmatian iMac didn't make sense. We don't need yet another perfect but boring device.
WOW, that’s kinda crazy thinking.  iI’s rather fortunate you don’t work for any marketing department.

  • Apple brings back dark black for the iPhone 16 Pro

Ugg that is bad.  No blue or green.  Black, white and gray wow that is so lame. It seems like Apple is taking their cues from the automotive world which seems to despise colors.

  • iPhone 16 may not see super cycle after all, according to analyst report

This makes no sense since an iPhone super cycle is defined by the customers not Apple or the supply chain.

  • A MacBook Pro design refresh is probably years away

it's bizarre to even speculate — Apple is very predictable about design changes. New iPhone chassis happen every three years, modestly changed Watch every three years, new MBP every four years. (iMac, Mac Mini and iPad practically never.)

Every Macbook Pro design has had roughly four major releases (a fifth here in and there for an extremely minor spec bump) since the 2004 Aluminum G4. Usually these design changes coincide with a major screen change (retina, micro-LED + notch).

Given that OLED panels are rumored to debut around the same that M5s should be due to release, it seems like a sure thing that we'll see a redesign in late 2025/early-'26.
See no reason for a redesign until something significant changes aka OLED screen.

  • M4 MacBook Pro upgrade could arrive by end of 2024

Seems like upgrading to the M4Pro and M4Max will already be a significant upgrade this fall.  Really don’t need the OLED screen yet, save that for the fall of 2025 and the M5 processors.  I imagine if the AI in the M4Pro/max is significantly better than the M3 there will be huge demand for them.    I really love the miniLED screen on my 14” MacBook Pro.
