  • Doug Field returns to Apple's 'Project Titan' after stint at Tesla

    brakken said:
In other news, the Supreme Allied Commander of Super Secrecy has indirectly hinted at a meeting with undisclosed details regarding the possiblity that perhaps Apple’s mystery “Titan” labelled project, if it were to be progressing with or without Volkswagen, may be suffering too much public attention. There shaln’t be any further detials at 11!
Wait. Isn't this top security? Well, shouldn't we activate the cone of silence?

  • Minus Touch ID, Apple's 'iPhone 8' may enter mass production in 'third week of September'

Plus some ambient light from the screen. I bet the screen senses if it is dark and lights up white for dark facial recognition.

  • First look: Apple's powerful iMac Pro

I guess Apple has made their decision on upgradable pro machines. Buy a maxed out machine and when it's cutting edge components get long in the tooth, buy a new one. One thing seems clear, no major redesign of the consumer iMac for a while. No way they'd give them an updated look in the fall while selling a pro machine that is shaped like the old consumer ones. Also, what about Mac Mini?
Nice thing about iMac is when it comes time to selling the one that is long in the tooth, they actually hold their value pretty well. Unlike Windows PCs...

  • Rumor: Apple's new iPad Pros could debut next week, with or without an event

Apple has foresaken the Mac Pro, not updating it in over 3 years. Not to mention the Mac mini & iMacs. They've also discontinued their cinema displays & airport & time capsule. All they seem to be really focusing on now are their iOS devices. Their annual iPhone updates are huge events. And they seem to be touting their iPads as laptop replacements. So I seriously doubt Apple will just quietly drop the new iPad pros(including a new 10.5" bezel-less model) without holding a huge event. No way. The event will either be at the end of March or on April 4th as recently rumored.
My God, the whining!! The majority of 'pro' users can get a 27" 5K iMac fully loaded with 4 GHz i7, 32 GB Ram, 1 TB Flash, and 4 GB Video for $3,600, add multiple screens and external hard drives, and be just fine. Apple doesn't care about the EXTREME pro users because there are maybe a thousand of those in the US - hardly enough to dedicate development time toward. So buy a fully loaded iMac or move to Windows.
