  • Apple's AC Wellness offering free genetic testing to employees

Any employee that volunteers to have their genetic information gathered by their employer is an idiot. Do they honestly think this information will not be used against them when it comes to continued employment or advancement opportunities?

  • Floppy drive signed by Steve Jobs expected to fetch $7,500 at auction

Am I the only person who finds this auction highly suspect?!?

System 6.0 came out in 1988. Jobs was ousted from Apple in 1985. He was pushing the Next Cube at the time and actually had great contempt for a Sculley run Apple. So, I highly doubt he would have autographed a System 6.0 disk.

    BUYER BEWARE!!!!

  • Apple shifts iOS 14 development strategy to cut buggy releases

    marktime said:
That’s ridiculous. Unfinished code or known buggy code should never be checked into the daily build. That’s software development 101. Something is seriously out of control if developers have been checking stuff in prematurely.
This is happens when people with no engineering background become the senior management at a tech company. At least Jobs was familiar with the challenges of engineering hardware / software. Cook is a process guy (how to build / distribute things) and not really familiar with engineering. He wouldn't know a resistor if you threw one at him.

The fact that things got to this point at the biggest tech company in the world is staggeringly alarming. Tim, less streaming and more engineering, eh?

  • Disney+ accounts hack highlights need for more password security

    Yeah, a non-story story.

    Disney wasn't hacked.

10 million subscribers in 24 hours (a number Apple wishes they had). Account problems are to be expected. It's the human condition.

Small percentage of people use the same email and passwords for all of their accounts. If they've been compromised elsewhere, then try it with new Disney service. Account hacked. Not really rocket science.

And I'm sure some idiots used M1ckeyM0use or Frozen2 as their passwords word too.
