And, that's why app developers are pulling out of Apple Watch (Amazon and eBay to name a few). Every major watchOS update basically redesigns the way the watch works via aggressive API updates. It costs developers way more to support the watch than what they are seeing back in return.

Think of what an A11 processor in an iPhone could do if able to be connected to peripherals such as a keyboard and large screen.  Plus, it would provide better compatibility with Macs...

Um, what part of "Apple makes tons of money by licensing their proprietary connector" don't you get? They like it that way.

But, Siri isn't really that open. The API is very restrictive and only supports certain classes of apps. Furthermore, the support is iOS only. So far, there is no word on HomePod (what a God awful name) supporting Siri expansion. I'm guessing that's about a year away which makes it about 2 years too late.

Exactly. And, I can code new solutions for Alexa if I want (because unlike Siri, it's expandable). There are so many useful skills out there already. I love the fact I can play Sirius XM on Alexa now.

Echo dot, add your own high end speaker, and get Pandora, Spotify, and Sirius XM. Avoid shotgun wedding to the Apple Music.
