  • Revealed: Here's what Apple's new 'iPhone 12' lineup looks like

Missing is the rumored 6.1-inch "iPhone 12 Max," which will be a new addition to the lineup.

Guys. 5.4" version is new addition not one that has same size as iPhone 11!
It is same mistake as calling iPhone 12 50 USD cheaper even it is more expensive as same size iPhone 12 MAX will be 749 USD!

Compared to the SE, users get a huge increase in screen size as well as the addition of Face ID. Compared to the 2020 iPhone SE, users still get Face ID over the Home button, and they get the ultra-wide camera module.

And they get OLED screen. And maybe better antenna or wireless internals generally.

And by my calculation iPhone 12 will have about 140-145% of screen area compare original SE/5S and about 110% of SE 2020/8.

  • Here is everything Apple killed -- or tried to kill -- at WWDC 2020

    Trackers and snooping

Apple continues its battle against user tracking while promoting user privacy. In iOS 14, macOS Big Sur, and iPadOS 14 Apple made more changes in support of these values.

    Google Translate

Many users rely on Google Translate, or other translation apps for their personal lives or work. This year, as part of a volley against Google, Apple has introduced its own translation app, allowing users to have conversations in real-time with the new Translate app.

You can add text or have a real conversation with someone in the app face-to-face with the app translating for you as you go.

On iPhone, iPad, and Mac there is also built-in translation for websites. Anytime you are online and faced with an article in Italian or some other language foreign to you, you are able to instantly translate it without the need for any third-party apps.

Can someone say if in Trackers and snooping Apple did something really innovative compare to Firefox, Ghostery or other add blocking plug-ins?

With those few supported languages Apple can hardly kill Google Translate. And even user cases are rare. How many times you came to talk to foreigner not talking English? But how often you write something and need to help with translation both ways. For me first case rarely on vacation second case nearly daily. For second case there is little help especially in environment where you have to be silent.
Same it is rare to come to article in foreign language and for that case there were tools other then Google before. Especially on iOS where Google refused to integrate Translate into system with action extension.

  • 'iPhone 12 Pro' lineup predicted to have 120Hz ProMotion display

The "iPhone 12" is predicted to cost $649 for the 128GB-capacity version, rising to $749 for 256GB, and the Max version is said to cost $749 and $849 for each respective capacity.

For reference, the current iPhone 11 range starts from $699, indicating the "iPhone 12" will be cheaper at launch by $50. The iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max start from $999 and $1,099, so there seems to be little movement on price for the higher-specification 2020 models.
That is misleading. IPhone 11 (6.1") costs 699. iPhone 12 (6.1" Max version) is supposed to costs 749. So it is not cheaper.
But desired iPhone SE2 is coming in form of 5.4" iPhone 12. It wont me much bigger then original SE.

What is next? Toilet tracking? No, thanks! I know how to sleep. Not much to it, really. Have been doing it every day for the last 58 years. I find it sad that some people believe that they need (or even want) this...
So, the whole point to this post is to criticise others. You have a right to your opinion. I've tracked my sleep for years and have found changes interesting.
    Good for you.

Most of Apple’s health programme is geared around prevention, and sleep tracking is no exception. Lots of physical and mental health problems can be traced to lack of sleep.

I understand both sides. I love gizmos and al they capabilities but true is that if  you have common sense you do not need more to sleep enough. Other is if you have some sleep problems or other health issues affecting sleep already, then tracking can give you some useful information but wont probably help you resolve cause as it is in your habits, too much stress or unresolved inner conflicts.

    QuickTake

Does anyone remember QuickTake 100? Apple attempt into digital camera around 1994? I tried it indoor and output was miserable as one could expect at early times of digital photography :)..I still have pics somewhere.
