Apple stock threatened by growing backlash against App Store revenue cut
The App Store is like a high-end mall, with standards and safety for the merchants and the consumers. There are fees and regulations. Regarding App Store, anyone can jail break and lose all their protections. Anyone can go Android.
But the most important thing is the the amount of business done through Apps where Apple has no cut is more than 10x the App Revenue - ride sharing, nearly all fintech, travel sites, etc.
Calling App Store a monopoly is a tough case.

Apple to address Chinese iPhone ban with software update
Ha!. I'll bet this stimulates purchases of earlier models to either buy before you can't, or preparing for a grey market phone if they become scarce due to a ban.
If the ban does go into effect, buyers of XS, XS Max, and XR get better resale value for their older phones.
Or, the whole thing blows over.
Meanwhile, Apple buys back AAPL which earns more that 2X a ten year t-bill. -
Apple stock hammered on lower forecasts from iPhone part suppliers Lumentum & Japan Displa...
What is the worry about iPhone XR sales? The XS and XS Max were smash hits and will continue to sell well for holiday giving. The XR, which is a great phone and a great value, does not offer telephoto. If you love iPhones (don't we all) there are many other options, new and used iPhones and older new models that offer telephoto. Just my opinion, why buy a high-end iPhone without telephoto?
Meanwhile Services and Apple Watch continue to bolster the fiscal results. -
