M2 Pro Mac mini review: Best price to performance Apple Silicon yet
Crow2 said:jeromec said:Comparing only CPU performance does not make a lot of sense.
M1 Pro and M1 Max have the exact same CPU performance (unless the entry level M1 Pro with 2 disabled cores).
Same for M2 Pro and M2 Max.
...and yet every user/reviewer says that the Max versions are way faster than the Pro versions.
So saying that a M2 Pro Mac mini is faster than a M1 Max Mac Studio on the basis of CPU performance only is not serious at all.
But M1 Pro and M1 Max have the exact same performance.
And M2 Pro and M2 Max have the exact same performance.
GeekBench has a Compute benchmark to compare GPU performance.
In GeekBench 5 Compute Metal, the best score (manual search) for a Mac mini M2 Pro (Mac14,12) is 52933,
the best score for a Mac Studio M1 Max (Mac13,1) is 71492, which is 35% faster. -

Apple TV app on smart TVs now streams in HDR10+
dasjetta said:Why can’t they add HDR10+ to the older AppleTV streamers? You don’t need the A15 for that.
