  • Tim Cook responds to thank you note after Apple Watch saves dentist's life

I emailed Tim when I had my heart issue that sent me to the ER/days in the ICU and I was very joyful when he promptly responded well wishes and get better soon. I was also very thankful my wife had the upgraded apple watch to inform me at the time when i felt my heart wasn't right. It is very cool that the CEO of a large company takes the time to respond to customers direct emails with more than a general statement.

  • Apple thought low-cost TV dongle would ruin its premium reputation

They don't need to make a cheap dongle. Just lower the freaking price of their HD box already. No reason for that 5 year old piece of hardware to still cost anything above $80, let alone $150.
The Apple TV 4K features the A12 which first appears in 2018... so you're right, it's older but it's not 5 years old.  Also, the new remote is bad ass.
The apple tv HD with 32GB of storage for $149 has an A8 did you not actually read the post or just trigger post a response? That processor came in the iphone 6 in 2014.

  • Facebook-backed study claims default apps dominate on iPhone, Android

What complete bovine scatology. Doesn’t it sort of make sense that pre-installed app’s are going to be in wide spread use, that is sort of a no brainer.  I’ll bet Facebook didn’t ask how well loved their app
    is.
Exactly, for an app that is updated as often as it is…it can't manage to maintain dark mode switching back to light often for no reason at all other than just opening the app.

I’m sure that patronising attempt to help the judge reach her decision will go down well.
It's not "patronizing" in a legal case because the parties are obligated to put everything on-the-record in the event of any appeal.

If you want to talk about legal stuff, go to law school first.
I appreciate your comment. So many people here and places like 9to5 comment about things they know nothing about, but wish to present themselves as experts or highly experienced attorneys with practices focused on the subject at hand. In reality, they are responding with emotional based fanboism and know nothing about the legal aspects of the topic. When you do have some direct experience and read this stuff you want to slap them (not literally) upside the head and let them know they may be fooling themselves, but not you.

In this case, Mr. Lizard is a pretty good example of it. He also spells patronizing with an "s" instead of a "z" indicating he is educated somewhere other than the US and probably a resident/citizen of the UK or Australia  or some other place where the Queen's grammar rules. That makes it highly unlikely he knows anything about the the US courts or the subject other than the articles his fanboism leads him to read. To sum it up, he probably doesn't know squat about this and his comment about the Judge reflects the ignorance and a lack of respect for the law and court system.
I think you hit the nail on the head for the modern internet. We now have all these so-called "internet experts" or everything is a conspiracy of "big government" that finding intelligent logical dialog becomes muddled with garbage and even banter derails into nonsense.

  • New Apple TV Siri Remote incompatible with some tvOS games

    elijahg said:
What?! Why is it one step forward two back with Apple now? Most 3D tvOS games use the accelerometer/gyro. Plenty are abandoned too and will never be updated to function properly without the new remote. So this means the AppleTV is really $149 + $99 for a PS4 controller that is pretty much essential if you want to play 3D games. Even more reason to believe Apple isn't serious about AppleTV games. But of course it's all fine really because most importantly, that's $1.50 extra profit per AppleTV.
How is a ps4 controller $99 dollars when they can be had for $65 brand new on Amazon or via Walmart or purchased used for probably $45 from GME. Also, if your serious about games you probably already have a compatible controller to use because no one is buying an apple tv strictly for it gaming functions. I will say if apple wanted to get serious about games though they need to stop being anemic with the storage like nintendo and do more than 64gb because if you have some big games and some tv apps the apple TV still will then randomly close arcade when storage gets low low. I've experienced it myself.
