Five key features missing from Apple's new iPad mini
I have ordered the Mini 6 to replace my 5. I like most of your ideas. I have magnetic charging connectors that I’m using now and will use on the 6, so the MagSafe is a mute point, though it would be nice. I agree, 128GB should’ve been the low end, 256 and 512 mid and high end. But, having my movies in the cloud and a lot of things like that does mean less need of massive storage. I've had my 5 for 2 years and still have 30GBs of unused storage. I agree, the keyboard option would be nice but it would have limited use and probably a high price. DAs for the tougher standards, I put a skin on my 5(which I’m trading in) and with a good case and reasonable treatment, it still looks brand new. You can have nice things if you give some protection and careful handling. As far as FaceID, I like the new placement of the TouchID. I like TouchID and since you have to do something whether it’s swiping up or touching the Power button to get in, it’s really a matter of choice. -
Apple Watch Series 6 long-term review -- Was it worth upgrading?
I have a Series 5 Gold SS which I like. I did buy a Blue Series 6 but after trying it couldn’t tell that much difference between the two and returned it. There is talk of the Series 7 having the ability to monitor glucose. If that happens then I will be buying it for that reason since I'm Type2 diabetic. If it doesn’t then there’s going to have to be a REALLY compelling reason to buy it. -
One month later: iPhone XS against the iPhone X in the real world
Oops looks like my first post didn’t make it. I’ve had the Xs for almost a month and couldn’t be happier. I traded in my 8+ at Best Buy for $440 which made the high price more palatable. The 256GB is the ‘sweet spot’. Took it on a trip to DC for a week and took a boatload of pics! Great camera!!! Battery life was very good but not as good as the 8+. However, going to Low Battery mode made a difference. You can see my other post for further thoughts. The Xs is a keeper! -
One month later: iPhone XS against the iPhone X in the real world
To continue, I got a great deal at Best Buy, got $440.00 for my 8+ which made the 256GB Xs very affordable. My experience with the Xs is that it is everything Apple claimed and a keeper. I’m not sure what more Apple can do that will be a measurable improvement over the latest phones. While the A13 may be “faster”, I doubt anyone will notice. Better cameras or more lens? Possible but I doubt the difference will be THAT much better. 5G? Maybe but it will be years before it is widespread to make a difference. In short, it looks like we have hit ‘Nirvana’ with the Xs/Xs Max/Xr.
