  • Siri query returns response about Mac OS X Finder app ahead of WWDC

Hopefully it's better than Dictation, which was a huge mess and never worked.
You expect Siri to understand your poor phonetics, short consonants and long vowels? Sorry, but Voice to Text works great on iOS with Siri, if you come from the Pacific Northwest, with crisp phonetics that are considered the most clear English around.
Really? The most clear English could be argued is in England and what you colonialshave done to it is a tragedy ;-)

  • Google's Larry Page bankrolling two flying car moonshot projects - report

    palomine said:
My coffee came out through my nose when I saw this headline. Google has no ability to pick projects. They are the mythical monkey that will have to type for a trillion years to accidentally write a sonnet.

Apple has an actual process for these ideas. Most of them don't get past the casual conversations at lunch because of obvious reasons.

hey Google, how's that glucose meter contact lense for diabetics coming along? Oh, that's right, diabetics do have sensitive eyes and have trouble with contacts...
You do realise it's him as an individual not Google doing the investing?
And why not investing money if you have into moonstone projects. You never know what will come out of it... even a flying car is a possibility or interesting technology or engineering that can be used elsewhere.
As for that lense, Novartis eye care division signed to license it. So they must see (no pun intended) something in it.

  • Eric Schmidt says he uses an iPhone, but claims to prefer Samsung's Galaxy

Oh, Schmidt is running iOS 9? HOW NICE. This would explain why nobody at Google is aware the REST OF US WITH WITH ANYTHING LESS THAN A BRAND NEW SAMSUNG are running Android 4.4.2.
Damn I wish my wife's galaxy s5 was on 4.4.2 instead of 6.0.1then I could agree with you

  • Google I/O 2016: Android deployment rate slips backward by 20 percent

    spheric said:
It is NOT the same, because that S5 Samsung CANNOT be updated to the latest OS - which is precisely the point of this article: people aren't upgrading to the latest Android versions!

It would be similar if that 5s still sold today were only upgradeable to iOS 8 (though Android L was replaced by M six months earlier than iOS 9 was released).
You do know your statement is incorrect. The galaxy S5 can be update to 6.0.1 at least. If you have a carrier locked version and they don't release the update then that's a different matter but it can be updated. Though if it can be updated to N could also be another thing.
