  • Hands on and benchmark testing of Apple's 2019 iMac 4K

I realize I’m probably in the minority here, but I have exactly ZERO issues with a chin and screen bezels on a DESKTOP COMPUTER. At least it visually self-identifies as an iMac. Ditch the chin and the bezels and it looks identical to any one of 8 bajillion standalone LCD displays on the market. No thank you.

  • Hands on with Apple News+ -- Is it worth the monthly fee?

I refuse to pay for anything is advertising is involved. Free with ads or ads removed for a price. No double dipping. It's ruined TV and will online media as well. If your product is so great it should speak for itself, why should I believe and ad when the advertiser is the only one who has anything to gain?
Huh? Print and screen media have always been advertising-based. The $ you paid for a subscription merely covered (or only partially covered) the cost to print and deliver it to you (I assume you’ve paid for magazine subscriptions before - magazines that also contained advertising?). Apple is simply taking on the role of distributor with a monthly fee for their efforts. The publishers will still make their money via advertising. Do you really expect ad-free unlimited access to 300 magazines for $10 a month??? LOL.

  • Huawei's CFO probably owns more Apple products than you

This article is a bit of a prejudice. Huawei never officially ban employees from using Apple products. Actually in certain departments, they have to.

For that poor girl being punished oh come on, you’re the PR department and you post official news with rival’s product? That’s a serious mistake. And that girl done it outside of office hour with her private phone.
    I think we’ve found a Chinese astroturfer, y’all.

  • Intel officials believe that ARM Macs could come as soon as 2020

So...no more running Windows via Parallels/Fusion?

If so, that would be a major bummer. I need Windows very little these days but there’s always that one application you absolutely need that is Windows-only.

  • Apple's 2019 hardware roadmap calls for at least 11 new products

But are any of those products really new or are they just updates to existing products? When will we see something truly groundbreaking from Apple?
100% agreed. While it’s great (and critically important) Apple is finally updating some ***stagnant*** existing products (or bringing them back from the dead in the case of the Mac Pro or displays) they aren’t the type of historical Apple innovation that they (we) really need right now. I continue to be bewildered that Apple ceded control of the home automation market to creepy Google and FREAKING AMAZON OF ALL COMPANIES!!! For years Apple was rumored to be jumping into smart home hardware yet we never saw squat materialize. So now if I want a security camera, doorbell or smart thermostat I almost have to buy one from an advertising company that intends to track my every move??? Thanks, Apple.

I’d love to dump DropBox and rely exclusively on iCloud, but iCloud STILL doesn’t do proper versioning. Talk about getting dunked on by the little guy. I’d also love to dump my Office365 subscription, but Pages/Numbers/Keynote continue to creep along like the afterthought they are. All these checks I’m writing to Apple’s competitors and Apple doesn’t seem to care.

Also, they abandon products like Aperature or AirPort, which may not add much to the bottom line but serve to strengthen the Apple ecosystem (like I want to pay Adobe $120 a year for Lightroom???). And the ecosystem is important!!! Tim Cook truly believes Apple can’t walk and chew gum at the same time. Tim may be a great operations guy, but WHAT HAPPENED TO THE APPLE VISION??!
