  • Apple Ring: Two decades of rumors and speculation about a smart ring

If Apple could leverage its fledging Intelligence to enable more complex hand gestures for use with Vision Pro, for example, an Apple ring (or rings ) could make for some fascinating and useful software.

I was all set to buy a 13 inch iPad Air but then got hit with an unexpected and unavoidable expense , so will need to make my A10X based 13 inch iPad Pro stretch a little further.

That’s a great thing about iPads — they really last.
Yeah they do. My iPad Air gen 3 is still going strong and will still support  iPadOS 18.

  • Apple wants you to be able to just point at things to learn about them

    You pointing at me?.

This patent disclosure reminds me of going through the chow line in the Navy. To get 300+ people fed in one hour or less everyone going through the chow line would simply point to the food item they wanted and the sailor serving that item on the other side of the glass would slop-it or fork-it on to your tray. Adding a little grunt or the food name was acceptable too, e.g., point followed very quickly by "meat loaf", but pointing alone was usually more than enough to keep things moving along. The galley noise on the other side of the glass was not conducive to striking up a conversation - just point, and grunt if you want to. Believe it or not, while using zero technology the point & grunt worked quite well as long as servers behind the glass didn't run out of food, which could happen and usually meant that you were having ham again. For whatever reason, they never ran out of ham. There must be limitless stockpiles of ham in the Navy's food service supply chain.

I just hope Apple spends some time and effort coming up with a reliable meat recognition algorithm. Maybe skip the ham.
Thanks for your service. Just reading about how our troops are going to fed lab grown meat in the name of climate change. No need to specify what kind, just grunt “meat”.

  • Tim Cook may have met with Trump during WWDC to discuss second term priorities

The 2017 tax cuts that CEOs used for stock buybacks are due to expire. These are the same tax cuts that the Fed predicted would increase inflation. Go figure…
Just wait until you see Trump's plan to cut income tax and increase tariffs which will hurt nearly all Americans while benefiting the most wealthy to a huge degree.
Cancelling all those student loans and passing it to the tax payers, for people who already have great jobs helps the wealthy also.
