Apple's Tim Cook says increasing pace of 'iPhone 8' leaks hurting sales
I think this is a result of Apple's decision of creating a new form factor period from every two year to every three year.
Personally I was less excited about iPhone 7 introduction compared to iPhone 6's. Even though spec wise iPhone 7 is a superior phone, design wise it looks just as good iPhone 6 not superior.
I am not convinced the explanation about people buys android phones because of the rumors. I believe those people are in minority and they just want to have the latest not the greatest phone.
I was very excited to watch samsung's s8's introduction because of the design but it didn't make me buy one of them. That phone is not a complete product. The biggest issue is aspect ratio of its screen. Most of the youtube videos cannot take advantage of the screen without sacrificing top and bottom crops.
I will wait for the new design of iPhone 8 to upgrade my iPhone 6.

Apple investors shrug off Samsung Galaxy S8 event, send stock upward
The phone and samsung's presentation looked very exciting and futuristic. However, when I watched the unbox event, I kept remember samsung's past failures. In the past, they have introduced so called futuristic innovations that no body uses. I remember Galaxy s3 (or s4 I am not sure) had a page scrolling feature with your eyes, or turn on the screen by waving your hand over your phone, using 2 apps at a time is another questionable feature having on a phone screen.
Samsung has always followed Apple and stole ideas and the way that Apple integrates technology into their ecosystem. Even naming and numbering their phones is following Apple such as iPhone 6S and Galaxy S6. It is so disgusting they do not even come up with their own numbering pattern. Their voice assistant's name Bixby is pronounced similar to Siri.
There are some features that I find attractive about samsung's new phone. Such as Screen/bezel ratio, OLED screen and my personal favourite headphone jack. However, android makes the experience horrible.

Apple working with Consumer Reports on MacBook Pro battery findings, says Phil Schiller
When I first read the report, I have decided not to buy one of these new macs. I trust CR's reports. I remember their report on bending iPhone 6 Plus. After that report all the phone manufacturers made their phones even more stronger.
I have been using MacbookPro with DVD drive for 3 years now and it's battery works still better than the new macs according to this report of course. I was really amazed with 12" Macbook but it wasn't fast enough for me, even the newer version of it is not what I am looking for. I was really excited when I learned that Apple was going to release new macs. Touchbar, new design as 12" Macbook has and new usb standard ports. I was expecting new contour design batteries in this new machines but it didn't happen.
What disappoints me is not only battery life, I am happy to re-charge my macbook or use it connected to a power source until finish my work. It is disappointing to see Apple releases devices which are not fully tested and not ready to release.
But I don't understand this new pricing policy. I think 12" Macbook should be same price as Macbook Air and new Macbook Pro 13" with touchbar should be same price as previous Macbook Pro 13" with retina display.
I think I will wait for the next generations of new Macbook Pros until Apple and CR work together and come to an agreement.

Apple polling MacBook Pro owners on use of headphone jack, other ports
In my opinion optical drive removal is not same as headphone jack removal. DVDs have limited capacity and can be damaged and cause data loss. And optical drives take a lot of space in computers. I understand the reason to remove these drives.
On the other hand, headphone ports do not take a lot of space in devices. They are widey used in electronic devices and they have an industrial standard. Removing headphone jack reminds me the phones before iPhones. Every manufacturer was using a different type of port and it was very inconvenient for users.
I also find that digital output vs analog output discussion is misleading. Sound itself is analog, that's how human ear works. In the end all digital signals must be converted to analog signals to be able to reach human ear.
Wireless systems have battery and sound quality issues. Wireless phones do not last weeks but hours with one charge. Wireless headphones looses sound quality and sometimes looses connection with the device. Also wirelss headphones are pricier than headphones with 3.5 mm jack.
I will still buy and use Apple products, it is not a deal breaker for me but I think removing headphone jack is unnecessary and it is not moving forward move.

Rumor: Apple to debut iMessage for Android at WWDC 2016
I like the idea of being iMessage available for android because of the fact that some people do like android (for some reason that i do not understand:). At the moment the most commonly used messaging service (as far as I know) is whatsapp. I use whatsapp too because not all my contacts are using iMessage. Personally, I prefer not to use facebook owned service especially because of privacy concerns. I believe that once iMessage becomes available for android, I will be using iMessage more than I use whatsapp. And I hope that number of iMessage users suppress any other untrusted messaging services
