Latest estimates place holiday Apple Watch sales at 6M with $2.6B in revenue
I love my 42mm Apple Watch Series 2, Space Black Stainless Steel Case with Milanese Loop Strap. I wear it from wake up to bed time, office, home, gym, running, swimming, even a 10km Spartan Race (but I did cover it with a sweatband), I even shower with it sometimes. At home my iPhone now goes onto the charging station as soon as I get home. My main wish is cellular connectivity, no need for "always on" IMHO. -
Apple objects to 'free ride' requests by Australian banks to open up NFC on iPhone
I'm just back from two weeks in Oz and about half of the outlets with tap-and-pay accepted my Amex CC on my Apple Watch. If I had an ANZ (one of the banks that is not in the cartel opposing ApplePay) CC it would have been accepted at all tap-and-pay stores. I also saw a few ANZ ads promoting ApplePay with their cards. It's great tech and I'm reasonably confident that the Australian regulatory machine will eventually make the right decision. -

Apple working to integrate grade crossings in Maps after federal lobby
Another great reason to use mapping apps. In Australia it is not uncommon for accidents to occur where a car, being driven at night on a long, straight outback road, plows into a freight train blocking a level crossing. Just a warning from Siri, like "Level Crossing one kilometre ahead. Slow down and check for trains", could save many lives.
