Here's how to get started with your new Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD
Finally, my wish list: 1. Make "hey Siri, mute sound" and "hey Siri, unmute sound" reliable phrases. They only work about 1 in 3 times for me. 2. Provide a visualiser option in the screensaver menu, like the iTunes visualizer. Yes, I know you can use the Computers app, but why should I have to? There are third party apps, but the reviews are bad, so I haven't bothered to try them. 3. Allow one screen saver option for watching video and another for listening to music, and perhaps a third for audio podcasts. 4. Provide for different users to personalise their content, etc. Perhaps by training Siri to recognise different voices, so when I turn on Apple TV I can press the Siri button and say "Hey Siri, this is Steve" and my partners yoga stuff disappears and my favourites, last watched, etc. appears. Anyone else got any good suggestions? I'd love AI to do occasional "wish list" pieces, based on the AI team's extensive knowledge and our feedback, and then send the list to Apple and get Tim's response. -

Second Screen Saver, my favourite option is to create a folder in Photos, on your Mac, and call it Top Pics, Apple TV or something similarly useful. Save your best and favorite shots to this folder, but not anything that will offend Great Aunt Celia when she visits. Then, in Apple TV, open the Settings app, select General, then select Screensaver, the select Type and choose My Photos and then select Top Pics, Apple TV or whatever you called the folder in Photos. Then customise for time before starting, whether to display during music (of course!) and, most gloriously, the transition type (you'll have a lot of fun with these). Then when you are listening to music, or just when you have paused the TV to get another beer from the 'fridge and you get back to the sofa, a random selection of your fav. photos will be scrolling through. Great too for when Great Aunt Celia visits and you have to leave her for a few minutes to make tea, or a gin sling, or whatever (you should meet my family); just leave her in front of the TV with a suitable playlist running and she can see your life pass in front of her eyes. -
Apple Watch's heart rate monitoring credited with saving another life
brucemc said:Sure, this is nice and all. But what about all the other times Apple is NOT saving lives? Are we going to let them get away with it? Apple isn't doing enough, and they should be held responsible. Also, Apple is simultaneously doing too much, and they should be held accountable for that too. -

Apple scraps plans for first Australian 'global flagship' store
anome said:I didn't realise this was meant to be a "Global Flagship" store. I'm not surprised they've given up on Federation Square, though. Melbournians are very conservative and parochial. Comes from their inferiority complex over Sydney. Kind of like Chicago and New York.
Apple, if you're reading this, if you want to open a bigger store in Canberra, I'd be willing to go there. And at least a few hundred other people would, too...
Just don't put it in Perth. No-one wants to go to Perth.
