  • Apple has updated Shazam to add integration with Apple Music Classical

First they need to teach Shazam to do a better job at recognizing classical music. It's the worst.
The thing is even Shazam can recognized the music. But can it tell the difference of which performer or conductor or even which year of the recording? It is very common for the same performers to have multiple recordings in different years.

  • Foxconn has a grim outlook for the year as profits take a nosedive

I’m not a journalist, but this is specifically what they said:  “Foxconn maintains its full-year forecast of flat revenues”

And, this quarters miss was entirely it’s write-off of Sharp

Help me understand how you got to this headline

    How?
One is annual prediction, the other is last quarter result. Historically, Apple will place a huge order on Foxconn in Q2 and Q3 for the September iPhone launch. So my guess is they will make up the loss profit in the Q2-Q3 and hopefully Q4.

  • TikTok has a plan to avoid getting banned in the US

They can just asking him one question and to shut him up.  “If CCP ask ByteDance to hand over US/EU user data, will and can they refuse”

The answer is simple, NO. There is a Chinese law stated Chinese companies will be required to obey whatever CCP/government ask them to do. Even it is against other Chinese law.

Before calling US/EU hypothetic or dictatorship, can any outside social media company operate in China freely. The answer is no. Not even Chinese media companies/ByteDance can operate freely in China.

A more fair request is if CCP open up Chinese markets to foreign media companies than US/EU should allow Tiktok to operate in the West. But you already know it is impossible.
Good question! I have a question too. What kind of data TikTok have that will interest CCP? I will dare to guess one.  Maybe TikTok can provide data that some US officials are interested in watching child porn?
No one can be certain at this point. But what if the app can side load a hidden spyware in the phone.

What if the app can log what you type in other apps.

Remember few years ago, US military ban their soldiers using something like Fitbit with geometric? Because it revealed a secret overseas base. This is not even intentional. But if a company can gather enough data, it can tell a lot about the user or a specific group.

  • Apple, Alphabet, Meta push back against US spy law

One thing this article gets me thinking is who is Edward Snowden really. It wasn’t until 3 years later in 2016 that we realized how involved Russia has been in attempting to manipulate and infiltrate our government agencies and politics. The fact that he was welcomed with open arms in Russia is concerning in retrospect to say the least.
If you read his book and other articles, it is the US government that canceled his passport after he arrived in Russia. Thus, no visa no entry to the third country. He never intended to stay in Russia. If US government don’t cancel his passport, he is already living in other countries.

also, he agreed to return to US to stand trial, the only condition is the trial must be open to pubic. But US only promise not to torture him and refuse public trail.
