Text of FCC 'Proposal to Restore Internet Freedom' released, eradicates net neutrality rul...
georgie01 said:Net neutrality is an Obama era invention. How did we ever get along all these years without it? Before net neutrality was AI ever blocked by some Windows person at a carrier? It didn’t happen before the government’s power grab and it won’t happen after either even though it is ‘theoretically’ possible. Labeling Internet service as a utility no different than natural gas or electricity so the government could control it was a mistake and I’m happy it’s going away.
The only restrictions I remember from the days before net neutrality was that websites told me to go away because I was a Mac user and wasn’t running IE as by browser. The government didn’t fix that, competition and innovation did.
The internet is bigger than a commercial venture. While much of it is entertainment, that’s not its philosophy and shouldn’t be. It’s the easy and free distribution of information and communication. It’s more like utility services than it is like a television network. -

Now, removing these rules, which were hard fought for, will allow ISPs to decide which sites they will carry. One day, if someone at Comcast, Spectrum, AT&T, Verizon and others is a Windows person, we may not be able to get AppleInsider from them. Isn’t that just great? -

Apple's latest diversity figures show static global gender balance, more US progress
Here's the thing... So-called "Whites" make up 73% of the US population, but a much smaller fraction of the world's population. Is this the alleged "imbalance" that is being addressed by Apple? If so, they better start hiring a LOT more Asians and Indians, otherwise this should be chalked up to Apple buckling under to political correctness run amok.
Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demography_of_the_United_States#Race_and_ethnicityPopulation (2015 est.) Share of total population Total 316,515,021 100% One race 307,067,138 97.0% White 232,943,055 73.6% Black or African American 39,908,095 12.6% American Indian and Alaska Native 2,569,170 0.8% Asian 16,235,305 5.1% Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander 546,255 0.2% Some other race 14,865,258 4.7% Two or more races 9,447,883 3.0% White and Black or African American 2,407,385 0.8% White and American Indian and Alaska Native 1,846,997 0.6% White and Asian 1,871,046 0.6% Black or African American and American Indian and Alaska Native 311,538 0.1%
And it should also be noted that less than 4% of the population falls into the label of "LGBT", yet this population is overrepresented both in the media and in these diversity pushes.
