  • Apple and the aggressive rollout of its iPhone XS vision for the future

Persons who have tried it, think that haptic feedback isn't all that different in use from 3D Touch.
I haven't used 3D touch or haptic feedback but thought that 3D Touch could activate an additional menu or feature to choose where as haptic feed back just provided a sensation of movement like typing on a keyboard.

I’m betting you’re actually lying and can’t afford it. If you could, there would be no need for the pointless sniping.
I think he can probably afford it. Just about any professional employed person on this forum can afford it. They probably have a house, a car, wife, kids, etc. When you consider that with Apple's payment plans it is only around $60 USD a month for 24 months and ultimately you could resell it after that for a pretty good value, it is very affordable. It is just another monthly expense. If you still think it is too pricey, just stop treating yourself to other trivial luxuries like going to Starbucks everyday.

It wasn't all that long ago that some of the more elite magazines wouldn't even accept photos from a full-frame camera - they wanted medium format.
I've been in high end publishing for 30 years including fashion, cosmetics, food, medical and automotive. You are correct about submitting actual film to the magazines. They did frown on 35mm. We mostly used 8 x 10, but that was a long time ago. Ever since Photoshop was released in 1988 no magazine could even tell what format was used after it had been manipulated. They just evaluated it on screen or from a test print.

The images coming out of the current iPhone are in many cases better than the 8 x 10 film that we used to scan on a drum scanner. Less noise, better color dynamics, etc. In the old days, there were many things that could compromise quality such as the speed of the film used, exposure, developing process, converting from negative to positive and scanning that could could all compromise the quality at every step, introduce noise, color fall off, etc. and back then the lenses were not all that good because they were basically shaped by hand. Now days the lenses are completely shaped by computer and significantly more accurate. Also, with old film methodology you would make a Polaroid first to check exposure and focus and then load up your film, but still you only got one shot to get it right and then wait a few hours to get the results from the lab. Complete crap compared to today's digital work flow.

Apple got rid of the 7 Plus and 8 Plus. It’s the 7, 8, XR, XS and XS Max. And yes the 7 and 8 still exist for price reasons. My guess is the SE is gone because there’s just not a big enough market for smaller phones.
The 7 plus and 8 plus are still on the website.

  • Dual-SIM and eSIM technology in iPhone XS and iPhone XR enables use of two phone plans on ...

I think you would want your primary sim to be the eSIM when travelling, so you can just swap sims whenever and not have to worry about availability of eSIM. The reverse would apply once eSIM is ubiquitous, but then there probably won’t be a physical sim at all.
Probably take a long time before the eSim is ubiquitous. A lot of people in the developing world wouldn't necessarily have the ability to obtain the QR code to scan. If you need to have a hard copy of the QR code it could be a bit difficult in some countries where they don't have a physical address, mail delivery and no carrier store nearby. If you could receive the code by email you could print it out to scan it but most people in those developing nations don't have printers either.
